Falling (in Love) with the Trikke
When I decided to make a change and become fitter, I really needed something that would be motivational and FUN. Fitness without fun really isn't for me. I was sick to death of boring workouts, and the treadmill, YUCK. I saw a commercial on TV for the Trikke and though, hey maybe this would do it.
The problem was that it was all "smaller" folks using the trikke. I did a little research and discovered that they had a trikke that was perfect for me too. In this first photo is my second day on the trikke. Don't worry though, they're haven't been many other days like that.

Trikke Models
How to pick the Trikke that is right for you.
Since I first bought my trikke they have made a number of innovations and changes that honestly make me a little jealous. In this section though lets take a look at all the basic models of the Trikke. This is a photo of me on day one on my Trikke T12 Roadster. These are the "Human Powered" Trikke Models.

Picking the one that is right for you really comes down to a few major points.
How large are you ?
Where do you plan to ride?
How often do you plan to ride?
How much money do you want to spend?
So why do these points matter?
How large are you?
This can be in both height and weight. If you are really tall then a "kids" version of the trikke will mean you have to hunch over the handle bars. If you're a shorter adult, the T12 may be just too plain tall for you to be comfortable.
Where do you plan to ride?
In our neighborhood we right primarily on asphalt, the "hard wheels" or polyurethane wheels give a pretty bumpy ride on the asphalt. The air wheels are much smoother. If you're always riding on smooth concrete sidewalks, then the hard wheels may not bother you.
How often do you plan to ride?
If you will be riding often, you may want to think about the higher end models in the T8 or T12 - you'll have a smoother ride and a little more comfortable grip on the handle bars. If its a once-in-a-while thing, it may not really matter, and you can save some money by going with a cheaper model that fits your size.
How much do you want to spend?
Here's where the rubber (or poly) meets the road. If money is not object, then go for the gusto. But if you want to ride and still balance the checkbook, you may want to consider a cheaper version.

Assembling My New Trikke T12
The Trikke T12
First day with the Trikke, I set up my camera to snap a photo every few seconds, so it wouldn't be so boring. I guess it took about 20 minutes to put the Trikke together.
FAIR WARNING: You have to pay attention to the front wheel when you are installing it, when you put it in, it looks backwards (when you compare it to a bicycle). Don't worry the fork is supposed to be in the front portion, that is how the cambering motion helps you keep it moving.

How not to stop a Trikke.
On my second day out on the Trikke, I learned a valuable lesson. Do not put your foot down until the Trikke comes to a complete stop. My friends get quite a kick out of this YouTube Video of my falling down.
