The Trikke (pronounced "trike") is a human powered (HPV), three-wheeled carving vehicle that utilizes conservation of angular momentum to allow a rider to propel forward. The rider alternates leaning side-to-side to move forwards. The width needed to move forward is roughly the width of a downtown sidewalk (1-1.5 m). The company released two new products - the electric Tribred and the Skki- to join the HPV line. The Tribred is making inroads into law enforcement, security and warehouse patrolling, as well as offering consumers a fun way to commute.

A rider may reach speeds of up to 18 mph (29 km/h) on flat ground. It can be used downhill or a level surface. It can move uphill though doing so requires substantial effort. The whole body needs to be used in a synchronized movement.

Trikke Maintenance & Repair

Maintenance & Repair Center
TRIKKE Tech Service Center - TRIKKE Tampa is an authorized service center for Trikke Tech, Inc. We're authorized to do service, repairs and warranty work. Please call first to describe the maintenance required and if we can't correct
the problem over the phone we'll set an appointment for us to take a look at your TRIKKE.

Weekly Maintenance Tips
For pneumatic tires it's imperative that you add air every 7 to 10 days. The air tires are a high pressure tire that bleeds down naturally over a few days. Use a quality pump with a quality gauge to ensure you're properly inflating your tires.
Check the bolts on your Trikke for tightness. Make sure each bolt is tight but don't over-tighten or you can strip out or break the head off of a bolt. The most commonly lost bolt on the Trikke is the folding bolt. This is the bolt that you pull back on to fold and unfold the Trikke. These bolts tighten against each other and again be sure to tighten good and snug but do not over-tighten. Your
warranty does not cover owner responsibility of routine maintenance.

Trikke Riding Tips

Trikke Riding Tips and Basics:

So, you've had your Trikke for a few weeks and are still baffled why it looks so easy in the video's. The most important thing that people don't realize is the importance of the upper body movement AND the leaning of the Trikke. Without the proper upper body motion and the Trikke properly turning and leaning into the turn you CANNOT get a lateral push on the opposite foot. Your body and the Trikke will be too perpendicular to the ground and you will not get the lateral thrust required.

The simplest way to teach a person to ride is to have them totally IGNORE the lower body for the first few minutes. You'll simply focus on the proper turn and lean of the upper body AND the Trikke. Granted you'll be moving slowly but with the proper turn and lean left and turn and lean right your legs should start to feel what is happening and you'll start gaining speed as you get closer to that sweet spot.

Upper Body First:

The simplest way to explain the upper body motion of the Trikke is like zigzagging on a bike or a motorcycle but with the exception that you're standing on your feet rather than sitting down. This is a motion that can only be practiced while in forward motion and not standing still. Keep in mind your turning is proportionate to the speed just like on a bicycle or motorcycle. Give yourself a push-off like a scooter and while keeping your shoulders parallel to the handle bars and NOT using your elbows then start turning and leaning left and right. Remember, do not even think about the lower body in the beginning but only let it go with the flow. After a few minutes your legs will start realizing what the action is and then you'll simply start expanding on that. Once you feel the upper body and lower body working in rhythm that's when you'll discover the "sweet spot". It's very recognizable when you hit it!

Now, watch a Trikke Video with an experienced rider and focus on the motion the rider is putting on the steering column of the Trikke, it's the most important part of learning to ride!
Also remember that the optimal rhythm takes practice. Some people catch on within a day or two while others take a couple of weeks. The more you ride the better you get. You must get on your Trikke and practice almost every day for 30 minutes to an hour and in no time you too will be amazing people at how simple the Trikke is to make-go!

The two key words are PRACTICE and DETERMINATION!
A good analogy is: Rubbing your stomach and patting your head at the same time. What happens when you do it at the same time is most will pat their stomach AND head or rub their stomach AND head at the same time. The way to learn this rhythm is to first start rubbing your stomach for a few seconds and then, while still rubbing your stomach and without thinking about it, simply start patting your head. It all comes together! Same thing with the Trikke! Upper body first then lower body.

Hear From Trikkers - Trikke Riders

Trikke Rider From Nashville
Nashville Trikke
While we are not Seattle or Los Angeles in our skateboarding reputation, Nashville does offer some options for the skateboarding faithful. While I could never get my big trunk on a skateboard or rollerblades this Trikke may be my first venture into Nashville's skateboarding society.
Bolt From the Blu: Trikke
My dad likes new toys. The Trikke is his latest endeavor. I got to try it out a couple of weeks ago. It's different than anything I've ever ridden and an awesome workout. It takes a minute to get the hang of it, but it's pretty exhilarating. It's kind of like stilts with wheels.
dailalds: Trikke Ride
Trikke Ride

Today we took our Trikke's to the parking lot and had a good ride. I jackknifed and took a really good spill. I have a hurt knuckle on my left hand, a skinned knee, but feel pretty good. Our kids tell us we are too old for this. I am not old, only my body. They are a lot of fun to ride though.

Stop the Trikke via proper braking techniques. Learning how to stop and slow down is essential is establishing control. Since the Trikke cambering vehicle contains brakes on both rear wheels, it is imperative that both brakes are applied evenly at the same time. Remember not to lean on the handlebars when braking.
