This extinct beetle inhabited the earth from the Cambrian period until a mass extinction about 250 million years ago. They are part of the family group, Arthropod, the same group that contains modern insects, spiders, and crustaceans.
There are over a million species of arthropods. More than 80% of all living creatures are in animal family. They are found in both salt and fresh water, on land and in the air.
Athropods include species from insects, to plankton and crabs.
The name means jointed foot. All arthopods have an exoskeleton and segmented bodies. They shed their exoskeleton when they molt.

2005.10.10-Trilobite Preparation in Rissani, Morocco
Here is a clip of Moroccan Prep Lab for trilobites. The specimen in the video being preped is a very rare Koneprusia brutoni which is found in Oufaten, Alnif, Morocco (village/nearest largest town/country). The age of this trilobite dates to the Middle Devonian (410-360 million years ago)
The reason in which why he can use a small air abrasive to reveal the trilobite hidden in the limestone, is since the trilobite's protective shell has calcified and is now a much denser material than the limestone.
This man is only one of a small handful of workers in this country doing this quality of work.
