A Trip Around the World, Grades K - 3: Bringing Cultural Awareness to Your Classroom with Activities Across the Curriculum

Amazon Price: $10.84 (as of 02/22/2012)Buy Now

I used this book years ago for my older two children when they were young and loved it! A homeschool co-op I was in at the time used portions of it also with large group projects and individual family activities. Published by Carson-Dellaso Publishing Company, the book is labelled for grades K - 3 but may be adapted easily up or down as needed. Each country unit contains a basic facts page and a "fascinating facts" page giving interesting history and tidbits. We used these as kick-offs for deeper study. Each country has slightly different things, but most have language activities, songs, recipes, crafts, hands-on learning activities, a country map and flag, worksheet, and library reading list. Book one has units on Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, Germany, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, The Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, and the United States.
