Troll dolls... and why I love them!

I just LOVE troll dolls. Do you love them too? I collected just a few as a girl, and still think they are so cute. I think troll dolls are really fun to look at, and their beautiful mohair hair is so soft. I love their eyes, their cute stubby hands, and their big feet.

I've put some photos here so you can see some trolls I like.

Do you collect trolls too? I think you will like these photos and the new ones (scroll down to see those).

Love that belly button.

About troll collecting...

I first started collecting trolls when I was eleven. I don't have very many, but I enjoy looking at them on Ebay and imagining that I will someday buy another one. I did finally break down and buy a couple of Treasure trolls that I found at a yard sale last summer, though. I just couldn't resist them.

Those cute, ugly little faces... That wonderful hair! I guess they had me at first sight. When I first started selling on Ebay, I noticed that people were selling and buying trolls all the time. And I thought that the troll craze was over. I was wrong.

This week, I am going to post some great troll photos for you to see, so you can see the differences between the different kinds of trolls.

Other Kinds of Trolls

REGULAR TROLLS - these trolls are 3 1/2" to 5" high and have all different colors of hair. Real Dam trolls (made by the Dam company) have real mohair hair that is long and soft. Other trolls can have artificial hair that is soft and nice. Some trolls (made in China or the US) have plastic hair that looks like mohair but isn't. I think some have copied the original really cute faces, though, so they are still cute.

HUGE TROLLS - huge trolls come in many styles - regular (with clothing), stuffed with hard troll heads, puppets, and more. These can be worth something, but generally not as many people collect these.

PENCIL TROLLS - these trolls came out in the 60's and were popular with kids who stuck them on the end of their pencils. They have a cut-out portion between the legs where the pencil sticks in very well and doesn't come off. Pencil trolls have long hair of all different colors.

MAGNET TROLLS - magnet trolls are usually much smaller than regular trolls, like pencil trolls, but having a round magnet on the back for putting on the refrigerator. They used to be quite common and may have been sold in vending machines.

TREASURE TROLLS - These cute trolls have a plastic "jewel" as a belly button. Each jewel is a different color. They look a lot like Dam trolls (which are the most expensive and hard to find) and have their own collectors.

COPIED TROLLS - some companies have copied the original trolls. I have only seen a few, but the makers have done a halfway job of it because the hair and head is definitely not of the quality of the others.

Awwww... a baby troll!

Dam Trolls

DAM TROLLS - (a "regular" troll variety) - The Dam troll company is still making trolls today. They have changed the original faces to be more expressive. The older ones are the most collectible still today. Sellers on Ebay now make OAK (one of a kind) trolls from ones that do not have good hair. They replace the hair with new mohair that can come in some beautiful shades.

Here are some trolls that are on Amazon.

I was surprised to find these!

I am also happy, because trolls are NOT out of fashion. I think they are still a fun collectible today.

And here are some more.

I could NOT believe how many were here to buy.

I really do think it is good that trolls are still being sold.

Secret Troll Collectors

HIDDEN TROLL LOVERS!

There is a hidden troll collector group that organize their troll collection on the bookshelf and really love them a lot.

They can't help loving their trolls. Because they ARE REALLY JUST SO CUTE.

Other Troll Stuff

TROLL CLOTHING

Originally, trolls came with their own outfits and accessories. Many were made of felt. They are hard to find today on the original trolls, but easy to find on the larger ones. Some sellers on Ebay make new troll clothes even for the smallest of trolls. Others put wings and costumes on the trolls before selling them as OAK trolls.

TROLL HOUSES

There is a great original troll house still on Ebay that opens up and holds many trolls. It has built-in beds and is very cute.

TROLL PAPER DOLLS

There are very nice troll paper dolls also available still on Ebay. I will try to put some on here from Ebay.

TROLL WRAPPING PAPER - I have seen this, too, plus troll stickers, troll pins, a troll Barbie and lots more.

Love those crazy eyes!

Here is some Troll Stuff on eBay

Check out these Trolls and Troll Things!

My favorite troll items (besides the dolls) are accessories, paper dolls, and troll houses. Sometimes you can find vintage troll houses and the original troll paper dolls too, which are nice. I used to have the paper dolls when I was a kid.

Some people make troll clothes today and sell troll sweaters and more online. I have seen these on Ebay before.

There are all different kinds of trolls!

Learn about the different kinds of trolls on these neat lenses.

One of these great lenses is about troll dolls... and the others are about REAL trolls, and trolls in myth and story.

THE DARK SIDE OF TROLLS...

I first heard about REAL trolls from a childhood story about the troll who charged toll at a bridge. He was pretty scary. If you didn't pay the toll, you could not cross. Totally. And you NEVER wanted to cheat him... because he had a REALLY bad temper.

INTERNET TROLLS...

Have you heard of these nasty people? They like to cause trouble online. In a way, they are like the trolls of legend. They do a lot of hiding, and cause a lot of trouble.
