The best part of living in the tropics is that it always filled me with enormous pride, contentment and energy maybe because of the fairly warm weather we have here at the same time the fascination on how the amalgamation of culture manage to work-out together. Plus, the added bonus of magnificent authentic food and variety of fruits to choose. When it comes to fruits I've never been a picky eater and for an anything-goes-person like me what a great fun talking about my own "gastronomical pleasures", eh?!

Hard to choose, but I'll say banana because they're so nice and portable!

Hard to decide but I think I'll choose pineapple. It has to be fresh pineapple, though. Canned pineapple is NOT good.

Editorial Reviews:
A gripping biological detective story that uncovers the myth, mystery, and endangered fate of the world's most humble fruit. To most people, a banana is a banana: a simple yellow fruit. Americans eat more bananas than apples and oranges combined. In others parts of the world, bananas are what keep millions of people alive. But for all its ubiquity, the banana is surprisingly mysterious; nobody knows how bananas evolved or exactly where they originated. Rich cultural lore surrounds the fruit: In ancient translations of the Bible, the "apple" consumed by Eve is actually a banana (it makes sense, doesn't it?). Entire Central American nations have been said to rise and fall over the banana.

I am a book lover, but this is the single MOST USEFUL book I ever bought. This book has quick and interesting information on foods and how they can help you with common problems like diarrhea, muscle spasms, fungal infections, fibroids and lowering your risk of getting cancer. The research is stated and summarized in an interesting and easy to read format. And the food cures work! I frequently use the information from this book to "heal" myself and others. This book can save you from taking OTC and prescribed medication and damaging you liver and kidneys. -R. Woods

Amazon.com Review
If, when asked to enumerate your favorite after-dinner beverages, you find yourself listing port, then you will cherish Riedel's Vinum series port glass. Austrian glassmaker Riedel has built a reputation based on the premise that the tongue is divided into four zones, each recognizing either sweetness, bitterness, saltiness, or acidity, and that by changing a glass's size and shape, it can be perfectly attuned to a particular wine's stylistic nuances. With this glass, Riedel has set its sights on the rich high-alcohol classics from Portugal. With its elegant, barely fluted teardrop design, the Vinum port glass serves to enhance the wine's floral, raisiny aromatics while mitigating any alcohol burn to the nose. In doing so, the Vinum port glass is sure to become indispensable after all fine meals. --Tony Mason
