Tropical Wedding Theme

Thinking about having a tropical wedding theme for your big day? Fantastic! Here you'll discover how you can set the theme with tropical wedding flowers, favors and decorations.

Stuck for ideas on on invitations? We've even got some thoughts on putting together tropical themed invitations.

Tropical Wedding Theme Tips

The tropical wedding theme is becoming more and more popular as couples chose to exchange vows in a romantic setting. If you are planning a tropical or beach wedding, here are some tips to get the most out of your theme.

Tropical Wedding Favors

Favors - There are plenty of favors that have been produced with a tropical feel to them. You could choose anything with seashells on them or ones with a nautical theme.

These chocolates are also popular with guests and come in milk, plain and white chocolate varieties so everyone can enjoy them.

Exotic flowers such as orchids can also be incorporated into tropical wedding favors. These gel candles have a lovely pink orchid inside them. This is an excellent way to decorate the table as well as a way of saying thankyou to your guests.

You can choose from one of the biggest collections of tropical beach wedding favors here.

Tropical Wedding Flowers

Flowers - there is a range of stunning tropical flowers that you can choose from. Cymbidium orchids are a great choice, being both beautiful and able to withstand hot temperatures. Anthuriums, Gloriosa lilies, Singapore orchids and Heliconia are all tropical flowers that will add a vibrant dash of color to bouquets and floral arrangements.

You can get more ideas on creating tropical wedding flowers by visiting the Wedding Flowers Guide website.

Tropical Theme Wedding Cake

Cake -This is your opportunity to really let your imagination go wild! A simple but effective way to create a tropical themed wedding cake is to take a traditional white tiered wedding cake and decorate it with tropical orchid flowers. These can be real and made to coordinate with the bride's bouquet. Alternatively they can be made from sugared icing. A talented sugar artist can make these look incredibly realistic.

Another idea for the cake is to use cupcakes arranged on a tiered presentation stand. Cupcake wedding cakes have become extremely popular recently. You can decorate the individual cakes with icing that depicts fish, palm trees and seashells.

You could even decorate them in the dominant colors of a tropical island: have some with light brown icing to represent the sand, others in green to represent palm trees and finally some in blue to represent the sea and the sky.

Wedding Dresses and Attire

Wedding Dress and Attire - The great thing here is...you set the rules! Forget tuxedoes and formality, beach weddings can be as informal as you like. If the groom wants to wear a Hawaiian shirt, this wouldn't look out of place. In fact why not get the groomsmen to come in matching Hawaiian shirts?

For the bride, white dresses are still popular, but think about comfort and practicality as well as looks. If you are getting married on a warm tropical day, you don't want to be wilting.
