Trout Fishing Tips & Secrets to Catching More Trout

I've been reading about trout fishing tips and techniques and wanted to share this information online. So, this is all about trout fishing help and tips I've learned recently. And I'll be adding other things I find interersting to people like me (anglers and fishing nuts). Included here are also some fishing memories and custom designed t-shirts, caps, and mugs for fishermen and fisherwomen. If you seriously want more trout fishing tips and secrets to catching more trout, check out this site, too: trout fishing secrets.

Trout Fishing Tips & Help: Proven Trout Fishing Techniques

For anglers who need a new "angle"

Fishermen must be called anglers cause they are all looking for an "angle" to catch those tricky and elusive fish! Fish don't have big brains, so why is it that they can fool us, steal our bait and get away? Whether you are an experienced trout fisherman or if you are just a beginner, new fishing tricks and tips always come in handy - and you'll learn to think like a trout (or out-think the fish). For your next fishing trip to your favorite fishing hole (stream, river, or lake) these secrets will help you CATCH MORE TROUT!

Fishing can be so much fun (and actually catching fish makes it more fun). Doesn't it just frustrate you when others are catching fish and you aren't having any luck? Have you ever wondered why fishing in different regions or different bodies of water can bring such different results? These are the kinds of in-depth knowledge that I learned from this Trout Fishing Secrets guide. The best ways to handle bait and lures and the science behind trout fishing are explained. Other topics covered include information about what trout like to eat, explanations about different trout species and the different techniques needed for fishing in streams (stream craft) as opposed to lakes or rivers.

As a person who's loved fishing since I was a kid - I think I caught my first fish when I was about 7 - I realize that reading about fishing is not the same as being out there with the fresh air, the water and the FISH! But learning these new tactics is going to really help me on the next fishing trip. In this guide, the author not only shares their own secrets, but the information comes from the many articles and ebooks they've studied and many conversations with other fishing pros that have been collected over the years. And it includes multiple trout fishing tactics (including lake fishing and spin fishing) that aren't found in those ebooks or guides that mainly focus on fly fishing. But fly fishermen will gain useful knowlege from this guide, too. Since it includes information on the ways I prefer to fish, such as with spinners, I found it helpful to me personally.

So, if you want to learn how to create a trout feeding frenzy to catch more trout, catch them more often and, at the same time, learn more about the the fish, their likes and habits, I highly recommend this resource: Trout Fishing Secrets

Do Fish Feel Pain? Drama about Trout Trauma...

The controversy about whether fish feel pain.

I almost hate to bring this up, but I think I need to take a stand on this issue. Some people are concerned that catching fish hurts the fish. I've read that animal rights activists believe that fish feel pain. Personally, this has never been a concern for me (since I tend to reserve my compassion for warm-blooded animals and people!). So, my trout fishing secret on this subject is - until we know more, I will keep fishing!

My way of thinking is that the nervous systems of cold-blooded creatures are not that highly-developed. The unofficial theory is that invertebrates (they have no spine) and cold-blooded vertebrates, such as fish, don't really have enough brain power to have complex sensations. Really, you could go nuts wondering when using live bait that the worm or bait feels pain, too! I can see it now - t-shirts with this on them: "Save the bait, use an artificial lure!"

There are extensive debates for and against this idea about whether or not fish can feel pain. When you look this subject up on the Internet, the term that is associated with my simplistic theory is called neuroanatomy. Then, on the side of the "fish can feel pain" camp, is the concept that the evolutionary process must have some kind of pain-avoidance built in for species to survive. But this argument is mostly supported using comparisons to the human brain. To me, the human brain just can't be compared to fish brains (well, in most cases, anyway).

Some writers on this subject believe that this whole argument is a People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) agenda. It's become a moral issue to some, and a non-issue to others. There are some scientific studies done by the Royal Society in the UK that seem to suggest that fish react to pain. But I don't think these "trout trauma" studies have proven whether they are actually feeling or just involuntarily reacting.

On either side there are biases. I neither think of fish as "swimming vegetables," nor do I derive a sense of pleasure about killing anything. I certainly think they feel less pain than cows or chickens (which we eat a lot of here in the United States). I admit, to my bias - It just seems practical to me that fish are there for us to protect & manage the survival of the species, and sometimes for us to catch and eat. I for one will not stop enjoying fishing - and will keep looking for more secrets to catching more trout. There's way too much drama over the possibility of trout trauma!

Fishing for Trout and other Fish: Childhood Fishing Memories

I have loved fishing for as long as I can remember!

Here is one of my all time favorite photos - that's me holding up a fish I caught. Ok, I know it's not a trout, but hey, it's a fish! I'm wearing cute sailor suit, too - those were quite the "thing" back then. And look at my tanned skin (that was before sunscreen was recommended).

Just looking at this old photo gives me that really good feeling I get from being near any kind of water - well not the bathtub, but you know what I mean - the ocean, lakes, rivers, streams. I just love the movement of the water and the way the sunlight reflects on it. Oh yeah, and then there are the fish!

When I caught that flounder in the photo, I probably didn't even know about trout fishing yet. My first fishing experiences were at the Jersey shore, so there were no trout involved (unless we went to dinner and it was on the menu). As kids we fished in the bay and sometimes in the ocean. I loved everything about it, and I didn't mind baiting my own hook, either. Some of my best childhood memories are the times I remember being in or around water, in or around boats, and anything to do with a beach. And, of course, fishing ranks pretty high in my favorite memories.

Trout Fishing Scrapbook

What a Great Idea - Make a Fishing Scrapbook.

I know it is a kind of "girly" thing to do, but don't you think it would be cool to have a photo album or scrapbook about your next fishing trip? If you had a great Memorial day fishing trip or a summer of fishing that needs to be remembered, think about having a scrapbook to look at for years to come. So guys, tell your girlfriend, wife or someone who likes to scrapbook that this year you want a scrapbook all about YOU and FISHING!

I've been looking into scrapbook stuff. and there are actually fishing themes! I love the ones with boats. Check them out here: Fishing scrapbook ideas.
