    Stay away from Kirkwood Truck driving school in Cedar Rapids, IA. They are a total rip off and they don't want to train you very good. Half the day they do book time and even their tests have wrong answers in them, this they admit to. The tests are poorly worded like "what do you put the brakes on around a corner in what gear?" They makes no sense at all like a retard wrote it.

    The instructors are all retards who can't train anyone and all my classmates are tired of being yelled at for stupid shit like grinding a gear or blowing a shift once in a while. They treat you like garbage and disrespect you. One guy told me I needed to learn how to drive while getting in a fight with my bunk mate, and then tried to humiliate me and talk shit about me to start a fight WHILE I WAS DRIVING!

    I had one instructor get up and grab the wheel while I was driving and he almost made the trailer hit the sign that was in the median of the four way. I jerked it back and yelled about the sign and all the guy had to say was "oh see you're getting better you avoided that sign" Ya I would have done that if he wouldn't have jerked my steering wheel to the right halfway into a committed left turn.

    The school is total crap AVOID AT ALL COSTS unless you enjoy doing book work or watching your instructor play with his cell phone and randomly bitch at you about everything and anything. It's always the students fault at this place. They clump the bad students into a large group and the students that have driven before into smaller groups because the instructor who makes the groups doesn't like to drive with new people.

    They threaten to not give you your CDL if you don't finish out their class and they hold off your CDL drive till the second to last day. you get 3 chances and if you fail you just wasted all your money but they don't care because you already payed. One lady payed 3 times and they still can't train her even though she shifts perfect and can do all the other tests she keeps blowing the driving test because they didn't train her correctly.

    It is your record on the line. Don't gamble when it comes to getting quality CDL training. Go to a top quality CDL School and get your CDL the first time without getting ripped off!

    beware of national trucking they promise a lot but far short delever and the online school is a joke could never get a hold of anyone for support which is very important and seem to be interested in money not the teaching you are better off going to classroom schooling then online you have ateacher who will help you all the like roadmaster one of the other fine trucking schools.

    After little thougt I ended up going to sage trucking school in lexington, sc. The class room training and the instructors were helpfull teaching me the basics to drive safetly. As for the basic skills coarse it was a joke. It wasn't paved. Just a coarse with dirt and little gravel. The trucks were old some wouldn't even pass DOT inspection. The manager would run the driving trainers 70+ hours a week. I know the week I left one of the trainers did over 90 HRS. Again 90HRS in one week. Needles to say I got my CDL.

    I think your wrong. SkyWay Trucking school is fine. There trucks are old but they just put new transmission and cluch in the truck you take to the DMV. The class room is a place to practice dmv tests for your permit. IT"S EASY! They also have videos and a pocket book about keeping track of driving time... its not that hard. I went to the dmv last week and PASSED!! So what more do you need?? Maybe a simulator? hehe. It's a easy school. It did get crowded a bit for a couple weeks but there all gone and have there CDL now. There job placement is crap but tits the same like all trucking schools. You saw the trucks before you signed up, and the lot. But you get what you pay. It was not expensive at all I paid like 1,400 Good luck everyone!!! - David

    Stay away from Skyway Trucking school in Hesperia, California. They have old trucks which break down. One truck was down for 3 weeks. This left 30 students trying to use one truck for driving. There is no class room time. There is a class room, you can sit there, but there is not one teaching there. No training on log books, no training on new type of transmission. You will train on a split ten which is not even made any more. This was a waste of my time and money.

    This is nonsense regarding Skyway. It's a good school. If you need your mommy to come to the classroom and wipe your butt for you then you should not go to school there. But, if you wear Big Boy Pants and you can study on your own, learn on your own and work hard everyday that you are there ... then you can succeed at Skyway.

    I went there, (Paid $1,500) and was being CALLED by trucking companies within four weeks. I went from no job to selecting the job I wanted in four weeks.

    You wanna complain about that .... then you are a candy-butt pimple headed duck butt sucker. Yeah, I went there.
