Follow My Routine And Build True Strength

Hello, My name is Todd. I'm a fairly typical 41 year old, 208 pound guy. I'm an IT Director living in Boulder, CO and enjoy beer on the weekends and an occasional cigar. Where I'm not so typical is in how strong I am. Over the years I've developed an amazing strength gain routine. I use no supplements or special diets and work out twice per week. Recently I've written an eBook on my strength gain routine and have created some Youtube video's to demonstrate my strength. I hope you enjoy the video's.

A couple of items to note when watching my videos.

1. I'm not wearing any special clothing like bench shirts or wrist straps. I am wearing a weight belt (you should too).

2. Nobody is helping me by touching the bar in any way.

3. I'm not using any special devices or tools.

True Strength, What is it?

To me true strength occurs when you work out regularly, push your body hard and see amazing results. It's when the way you feel makes you stand a bit taller and because of that you face the world with a positive perception of who you are and what you are capable of. It's when you push yourself beyond what you thought possible and set new even loftier goals for yourself. It is part physical, part mental - and really, part spiritual. True strength is what you have when it all comes together and changes your life in a positive way. Jeez, now I'm a philosopher!

The Truth About Strength:

The plain and simple truth is that your genetics determine your strength potential. Like many things in life this may seem unfair, as you really don't control it. However, your genetic strength potential is far greater than you can imagine. Now, it's true that there is no substitute for hard work and a positive mental attitude and indeed you will need these things to truly tap your full potential. The truth is also that there are no shortcuts, not really. Sure there are powerful drugs like steroids and HGH that can change the balance in your favor, but ultimately they destroy your body. You may hear about miracle single rep workouts, or perhaps supplements or special training machines that allow you to suddenly gain massive amounts of muscle and strength. I'll go on record here and say that these things are not real. Don't fall for that crap! Work hard, sleep well, eat right and follow my routine all the way through. You do these things and you will achieve the result you desire, that's the truth.

Let's talk a little about what works, what doesn't and why:

Working out once per month and expecting dramatic increases in strength does not work. Fancy, exotic or flat out unbelievable training routines do not work. Working out 3 times per week for 30 minutes does not work, at least not for achieving your full strength potential. Working out on machines exclusively will not make you as strong as you want to be because machines do not work your stabilizer muscles. Taking supplements and just hoping to get stronger will not work. These things won't work because they are either halfhearted efforts, or have no basis in reality. If you really want to be strong, I mean really strong, you're going to have to work your body hard, feed your body well and get adequate rest. What does work? Well, you need at least a couple of workouts per week, for at least an hour per workout, and you need to combine both strength machines and free weights. Further, you need to address all of your muscle groups. Those guys in the gym who consistently work their upper body but never do dead lifts, squats or leg presses are not truly strong and will never realize true strength.
