Can you just try being a Christian?
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Psalm 34:8
Faith
What is faith but the realization that you trust yourself enough to try?
A Reminder
Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee. Deuteronomy 32: 18
Give Jesus A Chance
God has offered you the perfect deal.
When you are shopping for a big ticket item, you are frequently told, "this is the deal of the century." If you keep shopping you will find the deal of the century comes about every two weeks.
God is not talking hype, he has an offer in front of you right now. It is the deal of eternity.
I used to manage real estate offices. If someone came in and looked at houses to buy, and didn't buy, they probably wouldn't return. Even if the house was perfect for them, the price and terms great; they probably wouldn't return. A salesman's job was to ask enough questions to discover what the client wanted, and then help the client make the decision that was best for the client. If the client insisted on "thinking it over" they became overwhelmed by the complexities of a transaction and usually would not return.
Give Jesus A Chance
God makes contracts with men. Another word for contracts is covenant, another word for covenant is testament. The Bible has an Old and a New Testament. There is an Abrahamic Covenant that God made with Abraham and his descendents. There are many other covenants made in scripture between God and man. The most recent and final covenant is between you and God, with Jesus as the mediator. This contract does not have a list of laws, it is a blood brotherhood with Jesus, you can be adopted into the family of God.
God, who is worthy of praise and worship, has put a contract in front of you. Jesus gave up his life so you could have a more abundant life. It is now time for you to give up your rather haphazard life and become part of God's family. Your citizenship will change, you will become a citizen of heaven, and an ambassador of Christ to Earth. Everything will change, there is no way to grasp from the outside how total a metamorphosis is involved.
A type of the change is the picture of Noah. God determines what you will keep, you will go through a period of rapid change, and you will emerge into a brand new, very different world.
This new world is the reality you have sought. All around you have seen glimpses of a spiritual dimension that you could not apprehend. Take God's offer and the Spirit of God will apprehend you.
Give Jesus A Chance
You could put it off. You can "just think about it." If you do you will probably not return.
The offer will still be there, but the cares of this world will wrap you up so that you consider it a close escape; rather than a possibly final opportunity at the deal of eternity.
God loves you more than you love anything, including yourself. God gave himself for you that you might have the best available life and eternity. God is wiser and smarter than you are. Accept his offer, accept Christ as your lord and savior. Make the commitment to let God change you, then follow where he leads.
Give Jesus A Chance.
Even if you don't die tonight, right now is the time of your salvation. If you walk away you will probably never come back to this opportunity.
Paul said "To live is Christ, to die is gain." If you want the best, and only the best, live your life for the one who gave his life for you.
There will be no better price, there will be no better terms. The offer is on the table, make the commitment to yourself, God, and everyone else by doing the right thing.
God Bless,
Jesus is Lord!
Have you considered having a relationship with the living God?
You probably don't remember the first time you flipped on a light switch to illuminate a room, but that step of faith expanded your world.
There are several lenses pictured later that will expand on these ideas.
You talk about politics even though you know many politicians are hypocrites. Why do you let a few hypocrites in religious garb get between you and God?
Doesn't that mean even they are closer to him then you?
Chose To Follow Jesus
Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalms 16: 11
A relationship with God.
Everything good starts with this personal relationship -- joy, fulfillment, comfort, direction, peace, and much more.
The best just keeps getting better.
Jesus Christ already paid your entry fee to God's presence. All areas in your life where you have done less than the best, (sin), are removed from your record. Jesus, as God come to earth, led a perfect life, (no sin). Tempted, he did not dwell on temptation or give in. When he died on the cross as punishment it was not for his sin, it was for your sins. He gave his life to save yours. Ask him to forgive you of your sins and be your Lord; accept his gift of his life. Do it now.
That's just the start. Jesus sent you part of the Godhead, The Holy Spirit, to dwell with you and guide you. You have the Bible, as you study God's written word, his voice will be easier to recognize. You have other believers, as you meet with them you will gain understanding of the great work God has started in you. God will show you infinitely more blessings as you stay in his presence.
The amazing reality is you did not earn salvation, it is a gift. You will grow in Jesus Christ only by his continued giving. In the Bible it says, What is begun in the Spirit is not made perfect in the flesh. That means He will complete the work He has begun in you, if you will let him. Your effort, worry, and work did not save you, it will not cause you to grow. Your job is to get to know God better, and follow him closer. Your Joy will grow as you draw closer to him.
Remove from your life, with God's help, those habits that might draw you back into the slavery you so recently escaped. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Reinforce the new by spending time fellowshiping with Christians and reading the Bible.
Where do you go from here? Jesus rose from the dead and he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. You are saved and able to fellowship with God. You need to make and keep him as Lord of your life. You have been transformed from a slave in this worlds system, captive and destined for hell. The first step of the transformation is becoming a free and willing servant of the living God. You are now adopted into God's family; there to grow. As you mature, you may reach a transition that sometimes happens as kids turn into adults. They change from children of their parents to friends of their parents. As you continue to grow you are seeking to be a friend of God.
As his child you are promised a wonderful inheritance. Your desire's goal (hope) should include becoming close friends with the eternal, loving God.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)
God cares about every part of your life.
Every Part.
Involve the Holy Spirit in all you do and are, and reside in the growing joy of God's presence.
Are you ready to give Jesus a chance?
Well that was clear as mud, but at least it covered the ground.
There is much wisdom in all societies waiting to be explained. The Chinese proverb states "the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step." That insight can be expanded without stretching it overmuch. Our future can be fascinating journeys for eternity, this life on earth is putting on our walking shoes.

- So many people live a life of proclaiming their atheism in one breath and their miserable lot in life in the next without ever wondering what would happen to one if they eliminated the other.
