Working with others on a design project

The struggle of growing a business.

Working with others on a design project

We here at Tucson SEO solutions are first, and foremost SEO kinda people. We have recently grown our business into offering redesign services. So now, we are working with a small group of others on this project.

First, the client needs to establish some design parameters. We have got to get the copy editor onboard which was easy enough. Then the designer has to do their magic.

This is where we always wanted our business to be. We never where much into driving traffic to a crappy website just to collect a check. It has taken us six months to put the pieces in place and we are ready and loaded for growth, which is happening.

The hard part is that this business now requires managing others and their personalities. That's where the hard comes into our work. It's so hard to find those who share your vision and work ethic!

My review of the SEO Basics seminar

A little bit of Rant

I help an SEO Basics Seminar today. We ask everyone attending to fill out an evaluation form. In the past those that bothered to fill them out always had glowing responses. Today was a bit different.

There were two in attendance who had much greater expectations than a basic seminar can produce. The event had 12 topics to be covered in 120 minutes. So that 10 minutes per topic. So nothing was going to be presented to detail.

So I was a bit amazed when I read negative feedback about the lack of details presented. One complained that I didn't cover e-commerce or shopping carts. This really surprised me since they were not on the agenda.

I guess I need to step back and realize that it was not me, but these folks had the wrong expectations. It's my little rant... not that I expect lot of people to read this anyways!

Thanks Tucson SEO Solutions

A 12 Step Program For Link Buyers And Sellers

Link buying and selling and be addictive

Google had an October surprise for web sites that continued to buy and sell web links. Many of the big and highly trafficked SEO got smacked down for this practice.

This came as a major shock and blow to the SEO subculture. Over the next few months we read where 78% of webmasters were still buying links. This sounded like addictive behavior to us. Thus we created a 12 step program.

We invite you to read the 12 steps for your self here at
Tucson SEO Solutions and scroll down to 12/17/2007.

Below is a Matt Cutts inter view where he discusses the subject.

Matt Cutts Warns Against Buying Links

At SMX Advanced 2007 Matt Cutts and Danny Sullivan sat down to discuss search engine marketing and field questions from the crowd. One of the audience members asked Matt how Google is going to respond to the rise in link buying in the search engine marketplace. Matt explains that link buying IS against the practice of link buying and warns those who are participating in such schemes may face tough times ahead as Google works harder to remove them.

Get on Google's First Search Engine Results Page

First page Today!

Think that you can't get your website on the first page of Google's search results page, or as we in the industry refer to the SERP's. This is not a joke%u2026 It is done every day! And you can do it too!

The first requirement is locating a real high traffic website that allows user content to be posted. Here are a few examples:

A local SEO questions does the Google Sandbox really exist?

Yes, No, Maybe So...

For years now, those webmasters and website owners that can't get traction in the SERP's (Search Engine Results Pages) of Google complained loudly. Eventually a term was coined "Google Sandbox."
The theory, and it is only theory, goes like this. Google traps new website in a sandbox for up to six months before it can be found in the results pages.

Now, I have two website that are geo-targeted, so they have a smaller pool of competing web pages. Both of these sites landed on the first page of the search results within days of being launched. Si I did not experience any sandbox effect.

I have been told that it was not sand boxed because the keywords were not competitive enough. However, no one can define where a competitive word begin or ends.

I like to compare getting highly ranked for a competitive search is like trying to make the major leagues of baseball. It takes a lot of time and effort. You start as an unknown in some little league and if you are good enough and work hard enough you will eventually rise to the top.

I think that the sandbox is just an excuse for bad SEO or the lack of effort that it takes to succeed...

It my view and I am sticking with it...

You Get What YouPay For!

Today, we take a short look at how you might go about purchasing services. This article applies to just about all area's of business. You really to get what you pay for.

It's especially true with Internet related businesses. The rub here is that most business owners don't understand the market. They also do not know what they are looking for from a service provider. You could provide a good service or a lousy Internet service and you might not know the difference.

What works best for your keyword development

Now, many people will disagree with us, on this that's for sure. What we use mainly is other competing websites. They are more likely is know what there industries keywords are rather than some software program.

We have used the industry standards such as Google's AdWords, Nichebot, and Wordtracker. We have been very unimpressed by these. We freely do admit that it may take longer to check out the source code on a dozen sites.

The beauty of this process is that you begin to develop a feel for an industry that you are likely not to know much about. You will gain insights that you will never experience while using software.
