Some memorable rugby tackles
Throughout rugbys history there have been a number of rugby tackles that need special mention. I'm going to try and find some.
Here' a few hits you might remember
The one rugby tackle that sticks out in my mind, is Samoas Brian Limas smashing of the Springbok, Derek Hougard. Also nicknamed the chiropracter, Brian Lima was the hardest hitting rugby player I've ever seen. This one particular tackle started with a lollipop pass from scrumhalf Van der Westhuzien. Lima saw the oppotunity, to light the young Hougard up like a Christmas tree, and did. The tough Hougard had to lay down for awhile to regain his breath, and come back to earth. Then stood up with amazement by himself. He finished the game but admitted that he'd never been hit that hard in his life, and did have a bruised chest.
Another well knowen tackle was that of that bloody scrumhalf from Aussie. You know who I mean, yep George Gregan. One of the worlds greatest all time scumhalves, (being a kiwi that's bloody tough to say, but it's true).
The All Blacks seemed to have the 1994 Bledisloe Cup in the bag, as Jeff Wilson took off on a forty metre sprint with only Gregan to beat. The little bugger nailed Wilson in the corner to screw the hopes of holding the cup in New Zealand for another year.
