Dont let your LCD or Plasma TV become the next casualty!
Every year thousands and thousands of LCD and Plasma TVs are broken by toys, wiimotes, game controllers, remotes, and other flying objects. You don't hear about it often because it is embarrassing and very expensive to the owner. When an LCD or Plasma Screen cracks (which happens easily), the entire screen needs to be replaced. This often costs as much as a new TV. Unfortunately it doesn't take much to crack one. Ours was cracked by a plastic fire truck thrown by my son.
How can you protect your TV?
So there are several ways you can protect your TV.- First and formost is get it on the wall! This
makes it more difficult for little fingers to get to the TV, hit it with toys, and generally damage it. Wall mounting a TV is a great DIY task if you have some basic tools like a drill, studfinder, wrench, and a level - Have a conversation with your kids and tell how easily the TV breaks. And that if it does, you're going to kill them:)
- Make sure your Wiimotes have straps and the kids use them! Try playing a couple hours of Wii tennis or Wii Fit and you will get quite sweaty. Many Wiimote accidents happen because of sweaty hands.
