Psych is one of cable's hottest dramedy series in the 18-49 demographic. The show is in it's second season and is currently airing Fridays at 10/9c on USA Network.

Psych is an American comedy-drama television series created by Steve Franks and broadcast on USA Network. The show stars James Roday as Shawn Spencer, a young crime consultant for the Santa Barbara, California Police Department (SBPD) whose "heightened observational skills"Season 1, episode 11: "My heightened observational skills are considered a gift by most, but I'm here to tell you, they can be a burden." and impressive detective instincts allow him to convince people that he is psychic. S1.E1 (OA 7/07/2007) Pilot-Shawn has been trained by his father (Henry) to be a detective ever since he was a little boy. Because of his training Shawn has acquired a amazing sense of detail. Shawn sees an ongoing police case on the tv and phones in to tell them who the killer truly is. The police discover that it truly was who Shawn says but they are suspicious since they think the only way he would know that is if he was his accomplice. Shawn decides to tell them that he is psychic (even though he isn't). He then gets to solve a case of a kidnapping. It turns out to be a murder that the father covered up with a fake ransom note. Shawn also hired his friend Gus to be his assistant at Psych his new psychic detective agency. ****1/2 out of 5

S1.E2 (OA 7/14/2006) Spellingg Bee-In this episode Shawn and Gus investigate the death of a spelling bee judge. We find out that Gus was once a competitive speller and his knowledge of the competitions help them solve the case. The judge was killed because he found out that there was cheating going on at the spelling bee. The judge confronted the father who was helping his son by relaying the correct spelling to him. The father didn't want his son to lose so he killed the judge. **** out of 5

S1.E3 (OA 7/21/2006) Speak Now of Forever Hold Your Piece-Shawn and Gus investigate a family ring (worth a ton) that was stolen from an impenetrable safe. To crack the case Shawn and Gus become wedding crashers. As they get closer to the culprit a murder occurs. Shawn finally figures out that it was the bride's sister who stole it and then resorted to murder. She hid the ring in her bouquet because she wanted the ring for her wedding instead. **** out of 5

S1.E4 (OA 7/28/2006) Woman Seeking Dead Husband-Smoker Only, No Pets-In this episode Shawn and Gus help a woman whose husband was killed but his friends were arrested in a robbery. The friends threaten the woman if she doesn't give them the money that they stole that day. They find out that the husband is actually not dead. We find out that the wife was actually the one responsible for the robbery in the first place. ***1/2 out of 5

S1.E5 (OA 8/4/2006) 9 Lives-Shawn and Gus investigate a group of cases where the police believe they are suicides but Shawn knows they were murders. Shawn gets help from the victims cat and Gus hates how he treats the cat better than him. The case is solved when Shawn discovers that the brother of a man who recently committed murder killed the victims and made them look like an accident. He targeted depressed people show you the emergency depression hot line. The cat saves the day in the end. **** out of 5

S1.E6 (OA 8/11/2006) Weekend Warriors-Shawn and Gus investigate a murder during a civil war reenactment. Shawn and Gus get invested in the reenactment while they investigate the murder. They even become part of it. They discover that one of the reenactors was actually targeting a woman that was there but accidentally hit the victim instead. The reenactor wanted to kill the woman because she was going to reveal to the cops that th reenactor was planning on robbing his own bank and collecting the insurance. **** out of 5

S1.E7 (OA 8/18/2006) Who Ya Gonna Call?-In this case Shawn and Gus investigate the murder of a psychiatrist and a man who thinks he is being haunted by ghosts. We find out that the guy is not actually haunted but Shawn thinks it might be his ex girlfriend. We then find out that the man is actually haunting himself. The man actually has three personalities. His woman personality wanted to get a sex change so "she" talked with the psychologist. His angry male personality couldn't let this happen though so he killed the psychologist. ***1/2 out of 5

S1.E8 (OA 8/25/2006) Shawn vs. The Red Phantom-Shawn and Gus investigate a kidnapping of a nerdy boy. They sneak into a comic book convention and discover that there is a conspiracy behind the comic book character Red Phantom. ***1/2 out of 5

S1.E9 (OA 1/19/2007) Forget Me Not-Shawn and Gus investigate a murder an old family friend solved many years ago but no one believed him. He has now forgotten all the evidence he once had. Everything comes back to him when a similar crime occurs again. It turns out that the rich wife and her brother killed her husband's mistress in the old case and then killed their love child in the more recent murder. THey used a mountain lion in both cases to dispose of the bodies. Link to full recap. *** out of 5

S1.E10 (OA 1/26/2007) From Earth to Starbucks-Shawn and Gus investigate the sudden death of a 40 year old astronomer. We find out that his assistant (Hugo) killed him. He killed him because they recently discovered a new planet together. Hugo wanted the fame for himself so he slowly poisoned him over several weeks which finally killed him. S1.E11 (OA 2/2/2007) He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not, He Loves Me, Oops He's Dead-Shawn and Gus get hooked up in the world of speed dating when they get a case of a man who claims he was abducted by aliens. S1.E12 (OA 2/9/2007) Cloudy%u2026Chance of Murder-Shawn and Gus investigate the murder of a local weather man. The weather man's lover is arrested and charged with his murder. Shawn decides to help defend her since her lawyer is a joke. Shawn finds out the real killer and frees his client. *** out of 5

S1.E13 (OA 2/16/2007) Game Set%u2026 Muuurder?-Shawn saves Gus from a corporate retreat in order to help him solve the case of a missing tennis player. They find the tennis player when there is an attempt made on her life. She is ok but can't remember who her kidnapper is. Shawn eventually discovers that it is the crime scene photographer who used to date her until she broke it off. *** out of 5

S1.E14 (OA 2/23/2007) Poker? I Barely Know Her-Shawn and Gus take the case of the missing son of one of Shawn's fathers best friends. The son stole $20,000 before he disappears. Shawn discovers that the son is an avid poker player. He is actually really good but loses a lot of money to one poker player. He wants Shawn to help him find out how the other player cheated. Shawn discovers that the man won because he had help from the dealer. Shawn wins all the money back that the son lost to the cheater. ***1/2 out of 5

S1.E15 (OA 3/2/2007) Scary Sherry: Bianca's Toast-Shawn and Gus investigate a murder at a building that brings back bad memories to Shawn. There has been several murders from a local sorority. Shawn discovers that a woman whose best friend died years ago is mad at the sorority. ***1/2 out of 5

S2.E1 (OA 7/13/2007) American Duos-Shawn and Gus help out Nigel (pretty much Simon Cowell) who has had several attempts mad on his life. Shawn and Guss go undercover as contestants on the show. People at first suspect Emilina (Paula Abdul, who appears to always be drunk). When she is also attacked she isn't the suspect anymore. It turns out to be Zapato (Randy replacement judge) and his biggest fan (Bevin). They tried to kill both of them because Zapato doesn't receive any of the fame from the show. Both are arrested. Shawn and Gus give their second performance and Nigel hates it.

S2.E2 (OA 7/20/2007) Sixty Five Million Years Off-Shawn and Gus investigate a man who Shawn thinks was killed by a dinosaur. Everyone doubts Shawn's theory but the clues start to add up. Shawn eventually discovers that the victim was digging for dinosaur bones even though the owner of the land him not to. Shawn and Gus discover that the man found a dinosaur. Shawn discovers why the farmer didn't sell the land to paleontologists after receiving some help from his father. The owner of the land had killed his partner years earlier and if the paleontologist would have released his findings people would have started digging up his yard and would find the body of his partner. The owner knocked out the victim and the victim fell on the teeth of the dinosaur he had just unearthed. A dinosaur actually had killed the man.

S2.E3 (OA 7/27/2007) Psy vs. Psy-Shawn and Gus have to work with two FBI agents on a case of counterfeit money. One of the FBI agents (Lindsy) also claims to be a psychic just like him. Lindsy continually figures things out faster than Shawn and Shawn becomes jealous. When the counterfeiter is found dead the case is closed. Shawn discovers Lindsy knew so much about the case because she was working with the counterfeiter. They had a fight and Lindsy killed him. Lindsy is arrested.

S2.E4 (OA 8/3/2007) Zero to Murder in 60 Seconds-Lassiter's car is stolen and Shawn quickly finds the chop shop that stole his car. The owner of the chop shop (Wally) is arrested. Shawn solved a case but he is suspicious that there is something else to the case. Shawn discovers that Wally had a business partner, Johnnie G. Shawn pimps out Gus' car in order to go undercover at Johnnie G's shop. Through investigation Shawn discovers that Johnnie G was hiding drugs in his car in order to smuggle them to other states. Wally was his partner but was not allowed to help in the drug side of the business. When Shawn and Gus find Johnnie G dead in a car (gas leak killed him) they discover that Wally killed Johnnie G in order to take over the company. He stole Lassiter's car so he could have an alibi when Johnnie g turned up dead.

S2.E5 (OA 8/10/2007) And Down the Stretch Comes Murder-Shawn and Gus relunctantly take a case from the school bully, Jimmy, that they are both afraid of. (Jimmy is a jockey). Jimmy is suspicious of why his horses always fade down the stretch. While investigating the race track, a jockey falls off his horse and is declared dead. The jockey was poisoned. Jimmy is arrested for his murder because the jockey stole all the good horses to ride and he was also cheating on Jimmy's wife. Shawn and Gus eventually unravel a huge horse fixing rig. The announcer (Bill), the photographer (Ryan), and a unusually lucky gambler (Phil) were fixing races since the track was closing down. They were shooting horses with poisoned darts in order to get the horse that Phil bet on to win. The photographer (who was shooting the darts) missed and hit the jockey killing him. We also find out that Gus was responsible for a spitball incident that Shawn had always blamed on Jimmy.

S3.E6 (OA 8/17/2007) Meat is Murder, But Murder is also Murder-Gus' Uncle comes to town and Gus tells Shawn that his whole family believes that he is the psychic detective. Shawn agrees to let Gus be the psychic until his uncle leaves. Shawn and Gus investigate the murder of a food critic. They discover that the critic was poisoned at a restaurant called Antonio's. The police arrest Antonio. Shawn doesn't think Antonio is guilty. Shawn discovers that one of the other writers at the paper killed the food critic so he could get the job. He framed Antonio by pretending to be the food critic and he slipped in some poisonous mushrooms. Shawn and Gus reveal what happened and both pretend to get visions so both of their covers as psychic detectives remain in tact. Gus' uncle leaves town very proud of Gus.

S3.E7 (OA 8/24/2007) If You're So Smart, Then Why Are You Dead?-Shawn and Gus take a case from two students of a gifted school who overheard a conversation of a man threatening to kill someone and that he had killed before. Shawn and Gus go undercover and the new psychic guest lecturers at the school. Meanwhil Juliet has been on the force for a year so she finally gets to take lead investigator on a case. She is put in charge of Shawn and Gus' case. Shawn and Gus first suspect a teacher named Mr. Hahn because he has a bad temper. It turns out that he couldn't have been the one because their is an explosion in his house and he is killed. Shawn discovers that one of the students in the school took the identity of a dead boy in order to get into the school (he is actually 30 years old). He needed to get into the school because he couldn't get into college because he had a juvenile record. He knew if he went through that school that he would be able to get into college. Hahn found out that he was an impostor and blackmailed him (this is the conversation the kids overheard). The student killed Mr. Hahn in order to keep him quiet. Lassiter congradulates Juliet on a case well done. Gus, who applied to this school as a kid, discovers that he was accepted into the school but his parents declined his acceptance. Gus gets really mad at his parents.
