Latest Trends In the TV over Internet World
TV over Internet now has projects such as Joost and Babelgum are racing to dominate this market . But why is this?To give a little technical history, in the pass, TV was mainly provided through special equipment either over the air or with special cables installed to your home. The development of the Internet and the availability of high bandwidth connections has made it more attractive to provide video type services over a standard computer network almost the same quality in most cases. Whats the implication of this?
This means that you can watch TV anywhere this is a network and means for the traveling person that TV is no longer dependent on locality and other limiting factors.
How can you benefit from this? The main trend so far is that most of these services are free. They will cost you a few bucks to get some software but thats it.
In any case, the real trend for me is that the whole concept of TV will change. While you can still use a great plasma to watch your favorite programs, thats not all you can do. You could basically have a debate on TV with distance friends at the click of a button. You could watch none mainstream videos from services like YouTube and others and the list goes on.
As I have said before a great thing I like about it is the mobility. Have TV running on your laptop will you relax at a Starbucks cafe or even the park in some cases.

Finding Cheap Cable TV Online
TV over Internet as a means to get Cheap Cable TV
TV over Internet type services can be found all over the Internet. This means there are good and bad quality ones. What would be your motivation to get this type of technology?1. Maybe to save on Cable Bills. Up to $90/month
2. Check out new technology as it unfolds.
3. The ability to watch TV anywhere. Take it with you
4. Get some TV, since you don't have any at the moment.
There may be other reasons, but these seem to be the main ones.
Now Internet TV is not exactly the same as regular cable TV in some ways. For example, channel switching delay is higher due to buffering required for each stream. Some Channels will not work all the time.
On the up side, there are some good advantages. Internet TV is generally free from subscription. In fact you can get several channels via your internet Browser as well. The other plus side is that you then to get many international channels which is helpful depending on your disposition on that.
I would personally recommend to get the software packages although they could cost up to $100 for purchasing. This is what I use myself. In fact I do use it with an Home Theater PC as well which in itself has many other functions and benefits.
The one TV over Internet Software that I have checked out, is the Satellite TV for PC.
Base turns to Internet TV to cut cable bill
Great idea of how Tv over internet can help to save cost

Cable television is just a mouse click away for airmen at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M.
Looking to cut its $70,000 annual cable TV bill, the base is switching to a system that pumps cable TV news channels to desktop computers across the base.
"Internet Protocol television eliminates the need for cable drops, and doing so allows us to watch current events live through television news and weather channels, without having to look for a cable television hookup in your building," 2nd Lt. Brennon Smith, 49th Communications Squadron, plans and resources flight commander, said in Holloman news release.
Holloman spends more than $70,000 a year for 82 official users and 271 users in the dorms and billeting. As a result of the rising costs of individual subscriptions and the constant need for activation and installation of new cable drops, switching to IPTV - which allows users to access cable television from a simple local area network drop over the base network - could save more than $15,000 per year.
IPTV channels include MSNBC, the Weather Channel, CNN and Fox News. Additional channels that will be added in the future include the Commander's Access Channel and Commander's Calls Channel.
