Twilight Gossip

Ranked #19,632 in Entertainment, #216,253 overall

Yummy what's the latest gossip on twilight? Let's all take a look...

Anyone who read the book knew this movie was going to blow up all over the map. And in some ways it has and in some ways it hasn't. Should have it set record like some of the movies we thought it should have.

The difference between this movie is the actors, had they had extremely popular actors then it would have had box office breakthroughs. But that's what's so perfect about this movie... The actors!... They will be box office actors from now on this you can be assured. This perfect cast will ring throughout time because of this movie...

Remember how Tom Cruise started out? Well Robert Pattinson is on the exact same path, he will be the next Tom Cruise for this generation... That is my prediction.

The Twilight Saga Eclipse Official Complete Trailer (High Definition)

This is the latest to the Twilight Saga

Twilight Eclipse Original Opening Date of June 30th - is it in Jeopardy Due to Last Minute Re-Shoots?

Twilight series newest movie, Eclipse, is due out next month and the news of last minute re-shoots, have fans worried that the original release date of June 30th will be changed, according to RadarOnline.

Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Kristen Stewart have all just returned from Vancouver after finishing re-shoots that were called "last minute".

Twilight Eclipse should be pretty much wrapped up in the editing department at this time, so when fans heard they were still shooting scenes to appear in the movie, worries arose that they would have to wait longer to see the much anticipated third installment of the Twilight series.

Rumors are flying around from the Twilight Eclipse world of blogging of a kissing scene needing toning down and some more action plugged into the action scenes with these re-shoots.

Will Twilight's Eclipse be released on time? The company that produces the Twilight franchise, Summit Entertainment, is telling the fans to calm down. The movie will open on June 30th, just as it is scheduled to.

Questions Answered By Stephanie Meyer About Twilight

Questions about Twilight The Movie

Question: If the vampires don't have blood, then where did it go? Did it just dry up? Evaporate? Or were they nearly drained of it by the one who changed them?

Answer: The blood left in a newborn vampire's body is used-burned like fuel, the same way the blood they drink from others is used for fuel. Here's an analogy: think of it as the fat stores in your body. You're still eating, but you use those fat stores up, too, over time (though not always; more's the pity, so the analogy isn't perfect unless you are successfully dieting). That blood left in them is used slowly over about a year.

Question: Do the vampires have fangs or not? Edward flashes his white teeth plenty of times, but at no point do we ever see his fangs. Do they grow when they hunt?

Answer: My vampires do not have fangs. Their teeth are so sharp and strong that fangs are hardly necessary (they could bite through steel, if so inclined-a human neck is like butter, ha ha). The non-vegetarian vampires don't leave living victims (unless they are changing someone into a vampire); this isn't the neat-and-tidy, two-small-holes-in-the-neck kind of vampire attack that you see in other vampire mythologies.

Question: Other than Debussy, what kinds of music does Edward listen to? Does he prefer classical or has he a favorite modern style of music?

Answer: Edward likes a wide range of music (he has a lot of time on his hands for listening). He likes classical, jazz, progressive metal, alternative rock, punk rock, and some emo. He prefers indie rock to mainstream. He doesn't prefer rock over classical-he appreciates both. As a general rule, he doesn't like country.

Interesting facts

Did you know Stephenie Meyer acted in this movie? She was the women who orders a vegetarian salad in the diner

The Director for this movie is a woman and her name is Catherine Hardwicke she also directed the movie Thirteen, WOW! She knows what shes doing.

New Moon is getting made as you read this, it will be out in 2009. The new director is Chris Weitz... You might know him from movies like American Pie and The Golden Compass. I wonder why they are not staying with Catherine Hardwicke?

BIG MISTAKE!

BIG MISTAKE
They made a huge error in casting Taylor Lautner as a Native American, (Taylor Lautner is of French, Dutch, and German descent) not that he shouldn't have been in the movie, but doesn't that take us back to the days when they used white people as Native Americans and painted up their faces and made westerns.. I thought we were past all that.

Are they going to start casting white people in black people characters and paint their skin too?

There are many young Native American BEAUTIFUL men waiting for the chance to play in movies like these ones:

Simon Baker
Duane Loken
Eddie Spears
Tokala Clifford

And many many more...

Maybe next time they will think again! AND just maybe that's why Catherine Hardwicke is not directing the movie New Moon! Directors don't make huge mistakes like these anymore. We are not in the 1940's anymore!

Letters From The New Director

Added letters from the producer and writer Stephenie Meyer

Since we no longer will have director Catherine Hardwicke on the set making the Stephenie Meyer saga. I found a letter floating over the internet from the new director Chris Weitz. I want to post them in case you haven't had a chance to see any of these letters.

From Chris Weitz New Moon Director:

Dear fans of Twilight, New Moon, Bella, Edward and Jacob,

In the past few days I have been involved in a whirlwind romance with Stephenie Meyers' extraordinary books.

And I am very grateful to have received her permission to protect New Moon in its translation from the page to the screen.

For fans of the books and of the film of Twilight, this may come as an unexpected twist. So I want to write briefly to try to put you at ease, and to give you reason to hope for and expect the best.

For the last decade of my career as a director, I have chosen to make adaptations of complex and involved works of literature. This has always begun with the love of a book and its characters, story, and theme; and it has always involved a respect of and responsiveness to the feelings of other people who loved those books.

When I saw the film of Twilight, I was alternately entranced and left hungry for more. I was also struck by the extraordinary passion for the characters, story and theme that was evident in the people sitting in the seats around me. My job is to live up to that devotion.

Like many of you, I am a fan of Catherine Hardwicke's work. I can't really say much about why she is not doing New Moon because I wasn't involved in those decisions. But I can say that I will devote myself to making the very best and most faithful version of New Moon that can be brought to the screen. To those who doubt that as a male director I can capture Bella's experience, I can only say that emotion is universal and that my work has often involved working with some of the most talented actresses in the world.

For the rest, the proof will have to be in the pudding. But I promise to remain responsive to your hopes and fears.

I thank you for this opportunity and for your faith.

Very best,

Chris Weitz

Then we have a letter from the producer:

Summit Entertainment announced today that filmmaker Chris Weitz has been hired to direct the second film in the studio's TWILIGHT film franchise. The film, NEW MOON, is based on the second book in author Stephenie Meyer's blockbuster book series. The announcement was made by Erik Feig, Summit's President of Production.

Weitz, an Acadamy Award®-nominated writer, director and producer, has a proven track record working with a broad range of material dealing with youth-oriented characters, fantasy and action. As such, he has the potential to bring alive in NEW MOON the dimensions and depth that fans will demand in the next installment.

Feig stated, "We love Stephenie Meyer's fantastic TWILIGHT series. Thinking long and hard about how to turn NEW MOON into the amazing movie we know it will be, and working with Stephenie Meyer to find the right candidate, we are thrilled to announce Chris Weitz as director of the film. Chris very much understands the world of NEW MOON and has the skill set required to bring the book to glorious life as a movie. We think he will be an excellent steward of Stephenie Meyer's vision."

"I am honored to have been entrusted with shepherding NEW MOON from the page to the screen," said Weitz. "The extraordinary world that Stephenie has created has millions of fans, and it will be my duty to protect on their behalf the characters, themes and story they love. This is not a task to be taken lightly, and I will put every effort into realizing a beautiful film to stand alongside a beautiful book."

Weitz previously penned ABOUT A BOY, which led to an Academy Award Nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2002, and adapted and directed THE GOLDEN COMPASS (2007), which was nominated for two Academy Awards and won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. Additionally, Weitz co-wrote the 1998 animated film ANTZ and went on to produce the major box office success AMERICAN PIE and executive produced the film's two theatrical sequels. Weitz also produced IN GOOD COMPANY starring Dennis Quaid and Topher Grace and executive produced AMERICAN DREAMZ starring Hugh Grant, Dennis Quaid and Mandy Moore.

And of course Stephenie Meyer races us with a letter on the same subject:

Hey guys,

There's been a lot of worry and speculation on the boards lately, and I want to let you know what's going on.

First of all, like you, I'm sad that Catherine is not continuing on with us for New Moon. I'm going to miss her, not just as a brilliant director, but also as a friend. She has such a distinct, authentic voice that did amazing things for Twilight. I'm looking forward to every movie she does in the future.

And she didn't leave us empty handed. We still get the benefits of her amazing casting and the beautiful visual world she created. This foundation puts us in a good place for New Moon.

Summit Films is moving forward with a new director for New Moon. They've asked Chris Weitz, director of American Pie, About a Boy, and The Golden Compass, to join us, and I am very pleased to announce that he's agreed to be a part of our Twilight world. I've had the chance to talk to Chris, and I can tell you that he is excited by the story and eager to keep the movie as close to the book as possible. He is also very aware of you, the fans, and wants to keep you all extremely happy. (Torches and pitchforks are not going to be necessary.)

I'm excited to work with Chris and I think he brings a lot to the table, not the least of which for me is that he wrote the screenplay for and directed one of my favorite movies of all time, About a Boy. I'm really looking forward to seeing his vision for New Moon.

Personally I wonder why ... REALLY... why they are letting Catherine Hardwicke go... I have my theories though.

What do you think of Twilight, and are you at the edge of your seats waiting for New Moon?

submit

Why do you think Catherine Hardwicke is not directing anymore?

She was inspired to give up directing and attempt to live life as a cat after reading Big-Boned Cats! The Book!

Stephenie Meyer Matters!

* TIME's List of 'People Who Mattered'
* USA TODAY's 'Author of the Year'
* MSN's 'Most Influential Women'
* THE ARIZONA REPUBLIC's 'Most Fascinating People'

Many people are looking at Stephanie in a whole new light this year. She has earned everything she gets. Writers give so much of their lives and are rarely respected as much as they should be. Goes for painters as well, but with painters sometimes you need to hit the buckets before you get recognized.

She made it and now live in our minds as we read and watch everything we can gobble up.

I personally want to thank you Stephanie for your great works.
