Twilight Summary

Bella Swan is a clumsy, kind hearted teenager with a knack for getting into trouble. Edward Cullen is an intelligent, good looking vampire who is trying to hide his secret. Against all odds, the two fall in love; but will a pack of blood thirsty trackers, an old pact between a certain pack of werewolves, and the disapproval of their family and friends separate them?

My review on Twilight...

The focus of this lens is to see Twilight movie reviews...so here's mine!

One of the most anticipated movies of the year, Twilight was released across the nation on November 21, 2008. People lined up to see it on opening night, some even going so far as to camp out for the midnight premiere. Fans packed into the theaters, sporting piles of Twilight merchandise that could almost put Harry Potter to shame. But was the movie all that it was built up to be? The answer to that is yes, and no.

While the movie began with beautiful opening scenes of mountain scenery, the cinematography in the movie was poor, and attempted to rely on wild, twisting shots that made the viewers dizzy rather than awed, as well as extreme close-ups to focus on the character's "emotions". Big tip for the moviemakers next time: if you're going to do close-ups to that extremity, you might want to tone down the makeup. Not only that, but it gets a little scary when the vampire boyfriend is wearing more makeup than his human girlfriend. Though the movie had its humorous points, the action took too long to arrive, and some of the so-called "romantic" scenes seemed more awkward than starry-eyed. The characters, however, were very funny and realistic (well, the humans). I found myself wanting to see more of the humans and hang out with them instead of the vampires, but that could just be me. The movie was fairly enjoyable, and I have no doubt that fans of the book series will adore the movie as fanatically as the book.

Alice.C_awesome says:

I really thought the movie was awesome, but at some points it was really, stupidly uncool, like when u could tell that the thing was fake. Die hard Twilight!!!!

justice says:

allie says:

i am like a total twilight obsess and was one of the ones lined up outside the cinema so i hate to say this but the film was really cheesy even some of the diehard twilight fans were struggling to hold back laughter in what should have been some of the most romantic scenes of the movie, but *sigh* i still preordered my copy of the dvd as soon as i was able even if the scenes were messed up

Disliked it/Hated it!

katie_d28 says:

eh. it was alright. definitely did not live up to the book. i didn't agree with a lot of the casting; jacob, for example. also, the cinematography was terrible and made the movie seem cheesy. the audience does not want to be looking through a camera lens, which is the vibe that the director installed into the movie with extreme close-ups and shaking scenes. Also, filming from a doorway doesn't exactly give the right view of the characters. we want to see body language and emotions. I think the main problem is the director. the movie was rushed into production. Meyers should have waited and found a better producer and director for this movie. many Twilight fans, myself included, were disappointed with the first film of the Twilight saga.

unique_freak77 says:

Ugh! The movie made no sense, was completely boring, and the acting was horrible! I blame Catherine Hardwick though...the director should have control over her movie. *shakes head*

Predictions on New Moon

How do you think the next movie, New Moon, will do if it is filmed?

My prediction

New Moon will do the same, I bet. Possibly better than Twilight, but there will be many tears shed, haha.

u twit!! anyone would cry over new moon, Edward is gone and Jacob is mean!!!

katie_d28, at 11am on April 24, 2009 predicts:

New Moon will definitely do better. The new director, Chris Weitz, should make a big difference because the main issue with the movie, Twilight, was the terrible cinematography. Chris is a well known director who had great success in his previous films. I think the fans will enjoy this movie a lot more than the previous

Ok, so maybe vampires and werewolves aren't real (don't say it, it isn't true!), but we can still do our part to help out the other wild animals out there that roam the forest! After all, those vampires are probably making them endangered! ;)
