A Twin Full Bunk Bed and The Bedroom
A twin full bunk bed might be the ideal choice for your kids. Find out all about your different bedroom options and more, here.
The Guide to Selecting the Right Bed
It Might be a Twin Bunk Bed - It Might Not Be
Do you know what types of beds there are? There are many different options to choose from. You need to select the size of the bed from twin, full, Queen, King, to California King. Then, decide what kind of frame you want (cherry, oak, pine, or maple wood, or iron). After that, you can think about what you want the headboard and footer to look like. You can choose between the standard style, or go more over the top with sleigh, canopy, or leather padded (which of course, has the option to be tufted or upholstered). A day bed makes an excellent finishing piece to a spare room, and is actually quite comfortable to sleep on as well.

Confused or overwhelmed yet? That's understandable, but don't be. Just think about how you want the finished room to look. After all, the way the bed looks is really what defines the room. If none of the above options really whet your pallet, or if you have space and storage concerns, you're probably more of a utility person looking for a cheap, inexpensive option. Fortunately, there are some pretty reasonable options for those with limited budgets, and they are very modern and contemporary styles as well. Once just for kids and students, bunk beds and loft beds (captains as well, which is raised up about 4.5 - 5 feet off the ground) are now realized to be extremely useful in tiny or cramped rooms. They're extremely useful because you can fit a desk or bookcase under them, or a futon for a makeshift bed for visitors.
Then, consider the rest of the surrounding bedroom furniture. In the past, the norm was to buy an entire set because it all had to match, but that is not the case so much anymore. People are finding that they can get totally different pieces that just go together. For example, get the nightstand and dresser in different stores. Obviously, you don't want them to clash too much, but just enough that they make people think you're extremely artistic.
The last (and definitely not least) important thing to consider is the type of mattress. Don't scrimp here. You want to spend the money to get a mattress that will help you sleep through the night. Memory foam is by far the best, but it's also the most expensive. If you can't afford it, try a Serta or standard TempSoma model. If you're tempted to not spend much money here you can go ahead, but know that you will end up paying for it later down the road.
