The top 10 twin babies names in the USA in 2006 began with the same initial (the top is Jacob and Joshua). Personally I believe that this is a mistake. I think it causes confusion when the mail arrives or on the school register.
Names should be of the same complexity. Tom and Zackariah just don't seem to go together.
Gimmicky and unusual names seem popular with celebrities. You can try Tom and Jerry, Tweedledum and Tweedledee or other similar ideas. They are fun when the twins are young but remember that they have to live withe these names for the rest of their lives.
Give them sensible normal names as there are enough challenges in bringing up twins babies without that.
