How's About a Nice LittleTwisted Christmas?

Totally Twisted Christmas Tunes
Non-Traditional Holiday Music
Forget the Hallmark family crap, the illusion of it being about "family" at ALL maybe. Or even going broke buying gifts for a ton of people? WHY? Grinch said it best..."perhaps Christmas doesn't come from a store...perhaps Christmas means just a little bit MORE!" OK, so why not give yourSELF the gift of giggles and guffaws and escape that holiday stress?

More Twisted Christmas
"Bob Rivers is in top form here plying his satire-ridden stocking-stuffer trade, serving up note-per-note knockoffs of everyone from Led Zeppelin and the B52s to Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, and Tchaikovsky, among others. No lazy satirists, Rivers and company deliver not only grand musical copies but clever and witty lyrics that slum on the gutter side only occasionally ("Buttcracker Suite" being the biggest offender). The rest of the time it's good-natured stuff even ol' Scrooge could like. "It's the Most Fattening Time of the Year" apes Johnny Mathis, "Sled Zeppelin" nails the Plant-Page matrix, and the Beatles' rips, "Jesus' Birthday" and "All You Need Is Elves," also highlight the 13 tracks. But the most inspired cuts are a big-band swing version of the Rolling Stones' "Get off My Cloud" (here retitled "Hey You! Get Off My House") and Hendrix's "Purple Haze," knowingly recast as "Holidaze (Scuze Me, I've Got Gifts to Buy)." If that one doesn't grab yer funny bone, it may be time for that humor-marrow transplant. --Martin Keller

I Am Santa Claus
Amazon.com review: "Looking for irreverence in your holiday nut mix? Bob Rivers does such a great job of social, political, and seasonal satire under the guise of many a familiar holiday tune that he's lucky he hasn't been run over by a reindeer. Rivers apes all the department-store Santas (sung to the tune of "Here Comes Santa Claus") with "There's Another Santa Claus," lambastes "Teddy Kennedy the Red-Nosed Senator," and sends up Marlon Brando's Godfather in the inspired "A Letter to Santa," which warns of Santa's movement into mob territory. There are a few clunkers among the moving and snoozing targets, but Rivers nearly always elicits a chuckle. The biggest yuks, though, come on the title track as he reaches back to Black Sabbath's "I Am Ironman" classic to turn dear old Santa into a heavy-metal monster. Call it "Headnog"--and get it for the unholy rollers on your list." --Martin Keller

White Trash Christmas
A totally tacky title track from Bob Rivers, America's funniest song parodist. This uproarious new 'White Trash Christmas' will have you ho-ho-ho-ing all the way to the trailer park with crazy tunes such as 'Have Yourself An Ozzy Little Christmas' and 'Osama Got Ran Over By A Reindeer', and more like 'I'll be Stoned for Christmas'.

Twisted Christmas
This one is a boxed set of 3 CDs including his first two plus a bonus. Seattle's Bob Rivers and his Twisted crew have gathered the best of their Christmas parodies into one safe place - a 3 CD box set. A great investment for anyone who enjoys the lighter side of life. You will laugh, you will guffaw, you will want to go shopping. Well, maybe not shopping, but you will get a chuckle or two. A wonderful set of music to decorate the plastic tree with.

Twisted Christmas
"The morning-show DJ for Seattle's KISW, Bob Rivers began recording Weird Al-type song parodies in 1984 with the American Comedy Network's "Breaking Up Is Hard on You (Don't Take Ma Bell Away from Me)." Sung to the tune of Neil Sedaka's "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do," the track eased its way to number 70. He continued producing for the network, even while he switched stations from city to city,"

Dr. Elmo Christmas Tunes
About Dr. Elmo and "Grandmas Got Run Over by a Reindeer"
Wildly popular Christmas tune
Twisted Christmas
Novelty Christmas tunes come and go, but "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" has the shelf life of plutonium. If there were any goof justice in the world, a few more of these fractured numbers on Dr. Elmo's Twisted Christmas would be almost as popular. Elmo has managed to align so many twisted notions that they sometimes gleefully border on the sociopathic ("Christmas Won't Be the Same Without Johnny"). Then there's cultural fixation with celebrity as evidenced in "Grandma's Spending Christmas with the Superstars" and the down-and-out "Junk Bond Christmas Blues." Throw in some tunes about killer fruitcake, a lawsuit against Santa, and a few other off-kilter themes one doesn't usually associate with the season, and the bad Doctor has created a laughfest that merrily borders on the maniacal. --Martin Keller

Dr. Elmo's Yule Jewels
These Yule Jewels include: Grandma's Spending Christmas with the Superstars, Uncle Johnny's Glass Eye, Christmas All Across the USA, Big Jolly Man, Single Guys, Prison Without Martha, What's Christmas to You Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, and of course the all-time favorite Grandma got run over by a Reindeer.

Favorite Dr. Elmo Tune?
OK, there's simply no doubt that the runaway favorite from Dr. Elmo is of course "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" so we're taking that title out of this poll, just for grins. So BESIDES that crazy tune about what the reindeer did to grandma, what OTHER tune by Dr. Elmo might be your favorite?

Twisted Sisters Twisted Christmas
Twisted Christmas
"This is the perfect Christmas album for all your twisted friends, particularly if they wear black mascara and spandex and call themselves SMFs. It's probably not a good choice for your grandmother or parish priest, but then again you know them better than I do. Heavy metal versions of Christmas songs are one thing, but when "O Come All Ye Faithful" begins sounding like "We're Not Gonna Take It" it's a whole new season. Each of the songs gets a Twisted tweak, but none more so than "Heavy Metal Christmas" which is the TS version of "The Twelve Days of Christmas".
Amanda Richards, Amazon reviewer.

Barenaked for the Holidays
Few bands are better suited than the Barenaked Ladies to take obnoxious old Christmas jingles to an entirely new level of obnoxiousness. Barenaked For The Holidays" is sure to be a holiday favorite that is fun, witty and dynamic. The Canadian pop group does a smack-up job on this generous collection of satire and a handful of tongue-in-cheek originals that share the the band's bookish humor. Even the inclusion of three Hannukah songs doesn't raise the bar for reverence.
This release features many holiday favorites, including "Do They Know It's Christ- mas"(written by Bob Geldof )and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," performed with Sarah McLachlan, and seven original tracks including BNL's new holiday single "Elf 's Lament," featuring Michael Bubl%uFFFD. Ed Robertson and Steven Page"s distinctive vocals give a fresh sound to traditional holiday classics.

Monster Ballads
Monster Ballads Christmas
Rock your holidays with various heavy metal artists like: Skid Row, Dokken, Queensryche, Twisted Sister, Lita Ford. The songs are classic Christmas wrapped in heavy metal foil, a must have for Christmas time, at least to annoy the neighbors or co-workers who listen to those god awful 24 hour Christmas music stations. Shake them up with this one, a MUST have for the metal heads.
Amazon Review Excerpt: "The standouts are: -Danger Danger's "Naughty Naughty Christmas"-- obviously by the title is a nod to their biggest hit, but it's suprisingly not a rehash, it's actually one of the few original tunes on the disc, and it's a really good song, sticks in your head! -Winger's "Happy Christmas (War is Over)"-- remake of the John Lennon classic. A really nice interpretation of the song, complete with a good solo, I am positive that's Reb Beach on the solo. (as should be) -Dokken's 12 days of Christmas-- this song, more than any other, comes across as an attempt to redo a Christmas classic in the also classic sound of the band...it sounds like something pulled right from Tooth and Nail or Under Lock & Key, except it's a Christmas song!
