Twitter Alternative : Jaiku
Pretty similar to Twitter, same general microblogging concept.
You can add icons to your posts, you can add custom RSS feeds.

The address you get is jaiku.com/user/[something] , something being the url you desire. As you can see this is not as good as Tumblr or Twitter's offerings

This service allows you to import from a range of services on the internet that you have shared with including flickr, facebook, google, twitter and many more. About 50 in total.
This means that this is really a kind of content aggregator type site, which would allow you to gather everything in the one place.
For developers this has an all important API and they have a wide range of tools and widgets available
