What to do When Twitter is Down
The optimistic "Fail Whale" image that pops up when Twitter is "over capacity" seems to have a cult following too. You can even purchase these Fail Whale items at Zazzle.

- My Social 24 7
- MySocial247 is a sidebar companion for Firefox for FriendFeed and Twitter. Makes it easy to follow your friends while surfing the net.
- Sociagami
- Manage multiple social networks from one application. This manages Twitter, Facebook and MySpace.
- Tweetr
- This client works for Mac and PC and also allws you to send files to your friends.
- Twhirl
- Twhirl is probably the most popular Twitter client. This way you can check your Twitter account on your desktop rather than going to the website.
- TwitterFox
- A Twitter extension for the FireFox browser.
- Twitteroo
- Allows you to update your status from your PC.
- Twitter Post
- Mac Twitter client.
- Twitteriffic
- A Mac Twitter client that has a ton of features. I wish they had a version for PC users.
- TwitBin
- This is a Twitter FireFox extension.

- Summize
- Search Twitter in real time for certain keywords. You can even follow RSS feeds based upon your keywords. Also tracks conversations.
- Tweet Scan
- Another search engine that will help you find people Tweeting about a specific topic. Great way to monitor what people are saying about your company.
- Tweet Beep
- Want to follow a specific topic by email? Use Tweet Beep. It's like Google Alerts but for Twitter.

- Twellow categorizes Twitter users based on where they live, where they work, and what they talk about so that you can easily find the people you're wanting to follow!

Manage Your Friend List by Breaking it Up
- Crowd Status
- Have too many people you're following? Would you rather view one group of people's updates at a time? Crowd Status lets you set up "crowds" so that you can check one crowd's Twitter updates at a time.

- They are currently in beta, and you can only use the service by invitation. However, you can send tweets by using your cellphone.
Other Useful Twitter Tools
- Twiddict
- Let's face it. Twitter doesn't have th e best record of uptime. Use Twiddict to check and see if it is up or not. You can even send your tweets through Twiddict when Twitter is down. They will make sure the tweets get to your account when Twitter is back up again.
- Twitter Snooze
- Temporarily turn off (or snooze) tweets from someone on your friend list that's sending too many tweets!
- Tweet Later
- Schedule tweets when you're away from your computer, or send automated thank yous to people who sign up to follow you.
- Tweet Dumpr
- Want to save your tweet history? Dump it to a CVS file with TweetDumpr.
- Twitter Digest
- Select the users you'd like to follow and get their tweets in a digest (either on this website or in your feed reader).
Twitter Fun
- Foamee
- Keep track of who you owe a coffee or a beer using Twitter and Foamee.
- Daily Lit
- Read just a little bit of a book at a time in Twitter with Daily Lit.
- FedEx Tracking
- Track your FedEx packages through Twitter. Every time the location of your package changes you'll be notified in Twitter.
