TWIP #3 - Want followers? Follow others!
"twitnap" your follower's followers
The best way to get a lot of followers, is to search for people with similar interests (for instance, I regularly search for "Squidoo" and "CafePress") and request to follow them.
If you find someone with great updates, look at who is following them ... but also at who they are following!
Of course, you should also post your Twitter URL on your blog, Myspace, Facebook, Squidoo bio, etc. But don't forget to follow first in order to build a great following!

TWIP #4 - Reply to others, track responses easily
By starting your reply with @username, a link to that user is automatically made.
Find this icon:
Use the reply icon at the end of the tweet when you reply, and then the user can easily click an in reply to link in their Replies tab that lets them see which tweet you are responding to!

TWICTIONARY!
FOLLOW-FRENZY: searching for users with a similar interest (ie. Squidoo) and adding every Twitterer on every page of results
STALKERS: your favorite followers (not a derogatory term)
TWEET: a Twitter message, 140 characters or less; generally answers the question, What are you doing?
TWEET'LL DUMB: a user that has no profile pic, no bio, no URL but sends spammy tweets; too often, or worse, all the time (Don't be Tweet'll Dumb on Twitter!)
TWEOPLE: the humans who follow you; also TWEEPLE, TWEEPS

TWIDNAP: going through a fellow Tweeter's followers, and adding them to the list of who you are following; also twidnapper, twidnapping, twidnapped, twidnappee

hey XP, we are still fairly new to twittering but we love using Disgy, it's a 3rd party app that not only lets us monitor our tweets, but it allows us to reply, add links and dm other tweeters in addition to keeping track of our email and instant messaging. We Love it. Posted May 06, 2008 |
