"Tweet? Follow?" What can I do with Twitter, and why should I?

This is simple.

Tell the world, or just the people you choose, what you're doing.

Right now.

In brief.

As often as you like.

From your phone or laptop, from work or the beach.

So easy and fun!

Share links to your Web site, your blog, your shop.

Let people know you updated a popular Squidoo lens, or published a new one.

Send a link to the newest design in your CafePress or other t-shirt and gift store online.

Possibilities are endless ... but if you want followers, you've GOT to have great things to say and share!

You're all set up, but no one's listening.

The best way to get a lot of followers, is to search for people with similar interests (for instance, I regularly search for "Squidoo" and "CafePress" to find new Twitter users) and request to follow them.

If you find someone with great updates, look at who is following them ... but also at who they are following!

Of course, you should also post your Twitter URL on your blog, Myspace, Facebook, Squidoo bio, etc. But don't forget to follow first in order to build a great following!

You can reply to other users tweets.

By starting your reply with @username, a link to that user is automatically made.

Use the reply icon at the end of the tweet when you reply, and then the user can easily click an in reply to link in their Replies tab that lets them see which tweet you are responding to!

FOLLOW-FRENZY: searching for users with a similar interest (ie. Squidoo) and adding every Twitterer on every page of results

STALKERS: your favorite followers (not a derogatory term)

TWEET: a Twitter message, 140 characters or less; generally answers the question, What are you doing?

TWEET'LL DUMB: a user that has no profile pic, no bio, no URL but sends spammy tweets; too often, or worse, all the time (Don't be Tweet'll Dumb on Twitter!)
