Twittering

Twitter, twittering, a tweet?? So what is all this nonsense? Or are you fully aware what all this nonsense is about? This lens explores exactly what it is to twitter, different twitter sites you can explore, as well as a large list of Twitter followers you can follow.

Twitter is a great place to hangout. Twitter can be used in many different ways and it is the easiest of all tools to use. Some people use it for social connections, others use it for marketing or networking reasons.

Twitter Users Find Buttons, great websites that improve the Twitter Experience and feel free to add your Twitter ID at the bottom of this page and share your thoughts about Twitter

Twitter allows you to stay connected in a very unobtrusive way. Learn about your newest addiction.

How to Twitter

Twitter only allows you to send 140 characters at a time. This means that you have to say what you want to say in a short amount of space. This allows you to "micro blog" as it is now being called in the online industries. It truly taps into the Web 2.0 experience.

You add "followers" who are your friends on Twitter that read your posts. You also are able to follow people in return and read their posts. It really is this easy to use.

So what the heck about this Twitter? I remember the first time I heard people talking about Tweets... LOL

Who to Twitter With?

You can Twitter with whoever you like. Many Squidoo users are Twitter members and love to Tweet their Squidoo updates.

You can easily search for various items using sites like summize.com. If you are a Twitter user and know of websites that feature Twtter, let me know and I'll grow the lens with links.

How to Get a Twitter Account

Getting a twitter account is very simple to do. All you need is to go to the twitter home page and set up your account. It takes less than two minutes to complete. You can fill in more detailed information as you feel your way around twitter, but anyone can join.

Twittering for Businesses and Entrepreneurs

Helping a Business Maintain a Twitter Account

With the explosion of twitter, many businesses and entrepreneurs have started using the microblogging platform to keep in touch with customers, clients and fans. However, some people do not have the time to invest in twitter to manage a large account.

There have been services developed to help you with this. One option is a service like TweetLater. This service offers many features for a user such as automated tweets at a specified time, manage multiple twitter accounts from one platform (great for affiliate marketers in many niches), filter whose tweets you actually read, ping.fm integration, and turn any RSS/Atom feed into your 24x7 PR, traffic, or Twitter bot machine with the Blog Feeds integration.

Pretty darn powerful!

Plus they are now letting you try out the Professional upgrade for one month free!! It's a value of $19.97!

Contacting Customers Immediately

Twitter allows business users a real time method of contacting their clients and customers. With a few key strokes, you have a message ready to go out to everyone that needs to know. The business ideas may not be apparent at first, but think about it... is there a group of people that share something in common with you?

I really enjoy sharing Twitter with other Affiliate Marketers so we can exchange ideas and ask for help. Figure out how you want to use Twitter and get involved.

Useful Twitter Slang

There are many different acronyms and short forms you need to learn in order to use Twitter and understand what is being said. Feel free to add words that the list is missing.

Useful Twitter Links

Summize
Search for and follow anything on twitter. Type in a username, website, favourite book, you name it. Find out who is talking about it. Very cool! Your very own twitter search.
Twitter's Twitter Link
This link was suggested to me by Tipigal (found on both Twitter and Squidoo by this username). Follow what twitter is talking about.
just tweet it
If you are a twitter addict, you can explore this site for hours. Many of the fun twitter toys I find are thanks to this site.
twitterank
Straight from the horses mouth: As the name implies, Twitterank is sort of like Page Rank for twitter users. True to its namesake, it uses "back references" of sorts to determine how worthy of a person you are in Twitterverse.
twInfluence
This is a personal favourite of mine. They measure a three different metrix including who has the largest network or as they call it "most reach". A lot more powerful than most followers if you ask me.
Online Social Networking
This is a site that touches on many different Twitter factors. Larry Brauner delivers some valuable info.
Social Too
This service sends you a daily email to alert you with all the new followers that have added you in the past 24 hours, as well it provides you with a list of who stopped following. This is my new favourite Twitter service.
Twitterholic
This is another site that ranks you according to your number of followers and friends. It is also able to rank you according to location. I really like this site as it is easy to use and it allows me to find local twitterers easily.
Friend or Follow
Use this service to find out who you are following that is not following you.

Neat Little Twitter Buttons

You can get various buttons for your blog, website or lensmaster page sharing how many followers you have. This also acts as an easy way to share that you are a Twitter User and how someone can easily follow you.

To get one of your own, click on the badge.

TwitStamp.com

This cool Twitter Tool updates each time you update your twitter status. Click the example to get your own. You can choose from there different layouts as you ca see below. It just depends what the need is for.

Twitter Grader

This site measure the "power of your profile". It is a neat way to find people who have similar interests and follow them. Also, if you have a competitive spirit (as I do) you can try and get your score to 100... if you know how, please tell me. =)

Although the counter says I have a score of 100, it is actually 99.8 as of February 13th. However, I have had it up to 99.9.

twitter buttons

A fellow Wealthy Affiliate member built this Twitter Site. There are many different twitter buttons you can choose from. What I like best about this site is that there is a wide range of sizes... including tall and very skinny. Check out these examples.

Tweeter Getter?

Friend or Foe

Have you heard of the new twitter tool for finding new followers? It's called tweettergetter and was created by @garymccaffrey

Tweeter Getter

My personal opinion is that it is great if you like list building tools, but if you are a person that prefers the personal touch, then it is not for you. I like to connect with all the people I follow on twitter and I have not followed anyone that found me that has participated in this program. Why? Because they aren't interested in me, they are interested in my number. But that is my opinion... What is yours?

Do you like Tweeter Getter?

No!

Tipi says:

Haven't tried it!

CCGAL says:

Mechanical followings don't get you a responsive list - they get you people who want to build large followings fast, and who don't really care anything about who YOU are.

Mickie_G says:

I got a warning that when I clicked on the button that the site was not rated very well. You know, the red circle warning from firefox. What is that all about?

there is NO way to follow the ones I have now and the followers you would get...how many would actually follow and pay attention to what you are twittering about?

I use Mr. Tweet and I can review profiles first. I have found great people to follow this way. http://mrtweet.net/home/Teddi14

Good Ole Gar better hope I never run into him. ;)

JoanneOtt says:

I dont like it at all. I don't follow people randomly on Twitter anyway. Like to see profiles first!

CleanerLife says:

It's basically a pyramid scheme, except there's no money involved. Here's proof that it doesn't work: http://amnesiablog.wordpress.com/2009/02/16/why-tweetergetter-will-not-and-does-not-work/

I love Twitter and this lens. I don't get a lot of traffic from my tweets usually, but some.
Seems when someone RTs or tweets for me that helps a bit more...
    Best Wishes!

This was an especially fun lens because there were so many interactive modules that I actually WANTED to participate in. It was useful, as well, because of the links you chose to include. For certain, this is a 5* lens. Good Job!!!
