Twitter or Identi.ca?

Micro-blogging is THE thing with regards to promotion of your sites, social networking and keeping in touch with your mates.

Personally, I prefer Twitter although I do have an account on Identi.ca but, I believe, Twitter is more user friendly.

But which host do you prefer? Where do you stand? Have your say in the debate below!

Yes, Twitter is definitely the best :)

DecoratingforEvents says:

Twitter all the way!

hollikuru says:

I like identi.ca well enough, but Twitter is far more friendly. More people use it, more people for me to talk to. I can't say I know a whole lot about open-source, coding, or anything, whereas most of identi.ca is focused on all that.

inkserotica says:

Definitely Twitter! Nothing to attract me to Identi.ca at all.

mulberry says:

I don't microblog too much, but when I do it's definitely Twitter. I just think that if I'm going to do it I may as well use the service that has the largest audience potential.

NanLT says:

I'd never heard of identi.ca until now.

spirituality says:

In these things it's not just about functionality, but also about reach. Right now THE microbloging platform is twitter and I hadn't even heard of the other ones. So I go for twitter. That may change. These things change often online.

& I love that I can send my tweets as updates to facebook - means my facebook account is updated without me even logging in there.

Janusz says:

To tell you the truth I have never tried anything else. Twitter works well for me though.

No way, I think Identi.ca knocks spots off Twitter

Rowan Thorpe says:

I always use identi.ca, but with a clone-account on twitter. I've setup my identi.ca account to clone all my dents to tweets, so no problem with the "audience potential" problem. The 2 real deciding points are that identi.ca has extra functionality that twitter doesn't, and is Free(dom), Free($$), Open, can easily be federated, etc...

Vitalik says:

I tweet to http://twitter.com/itransition when I have any corporate news like press releases issue, events or appointments. In case if I have some private ideas about programming or software I post to http://identi.ca/itransition/

Aldrik.net says:

For me identi.ca, because it is open source & support openid
