TYBURN JIG? What is that all about then?
What Tyburn Jig does is...
In a nutshell: We do storytelling theatre shows, based around either: an 18th century swashbuckling and pirate theme, a medieval theme, or a Victorian adventure story theme. These shows take the form of either: set-performances usually lasting around 40 minutes; or playing walk-about characters interracting with the public, other entertainers, stallholders and so on. At some venues we do just storytelling shows, at others we just do walk-about. At some we do both. It really just depends what kind of event and venue it is. We tailor our performances to the requirements of our venue, client and audienceAs an example of how we work: With our pirate "Tyburn Jig" show we tell our tales in-character, as Captain Jeremiah Obadiah, and Dr Thomas Clinker, villainous but charming rogues who have travelled the world in search of adventure, loot and a free lunch. Capt Jeremiah and Dr Clinker are often accompanied on their travels by some strange puppet characters including Europe's only talking rat.
It seems that almost everyone likes Pirates!
