TypePad Hacks is a blog dedicated to helping you make the most of your TypePad blog now, while attempting to improve the platform by connecting the TypePad Design Team to their User Base.
My sole connection with TypePad or Six Apart is that I use their tools every day as an important part of my business as an artist and designer. I don't work for Six Apart or receive compensation from them.
There are three areas of focus at TypePad Hacks:
User Design: Collecting useful hacks for extending the capabilities of TypePad blogs now.
User Forum: Providing a blog forum for issues, news and user concerns about SixApart products and service.
User Power: Organizing users into a unified voice to lobby SixApart for the features, fixes and changes to TypePad most important to us.
Where to start reading:
TypePad Hacks Manifesto: An introduction to the blog and overview of what I hope to accomplish.
TypePad Hacks Agenda: The master list of requested fixes, changes and features suggested by myself and readers of the blog. You can add your own requests in the comments of this post.
Collaborative Model: An open-source approach to a closed source platform, this plan calls for collective bargaining and grassroots fundraising to fund development in exchange for more input into the direction of future releases of TypePad.
How to Participate at TypePad Hacks
How would you improve TypePad?
Contact TypePad Hacks: Need to get in touch? My contact info is here.
Ask A Question: Is there a specific Hack you'd like to request? Is there an issue, idea, problem, or topic you would like more info on? Feedback you'd like to leave? This page is a good place to leave requests so that others can see if they've already been addressed.
If the question relates to a specific post, the best place to leave it is in the comments of that post. I'll get an email alerting me to it, and will respond as quickly as possible.Submit A Hack: If you've got a cool hack that you found, invented or refined I'd love to feature it on the blog. Read guidelines for submissions here.
Show Off Your Blog: If you find one of the Hacks useful for your blog, why not leave a comment with your URL so other people can see what you've done? In many cases, seeing how a variety of people have used a hack will be of great value for readers who are trying to decide whether they want to use it, or how they'd like to do so. Read guidelines for submissions here.
Suggest A Link: Is there a great resource for TypePad Blogs that you'd like to share? Post it in the comments here.
