Typing tutorial
Plan to succeed
If you fail to plan you are planning to fail
How much time will you be spending daily
How many days a week will you be taking the tutorial
This is very important because it will help you to become a successful typist. Do the tutorial for 5 or 6 days a week and take a day or two for rest otherwise it will become a difficult task.
Also keep a minimum time limit for which you will be typing and try to do that much at the minimum and more if you have the will.
Keeping these things in mind let us start the typing tutorial....
Get YESOLO on the keyboard
The best software for typing
On the left hand side you can see a download button. Click it and you will be taken to a page which requires name, email and all those things.Only the first three fields are required. Just fill the information and hit download at the bottom. Then you can access the main download page. Click on the US layout or UK layout and download it.
After downloading, install the limited version. When you start the software a small registration block appears.
Click on the register later button and then you will be taken to the start page.

There is a small green button which you must click. This will take you to the user menu where you must create an account by writing name and password(if you need). Then click on the forward button at the bottom and you can see all the lessons in the software. There are a total of 100 but you can use only 40.
Now one thing that I want to tell you is the amount of reading that you have to do. The Yesolo typing tutor is different from other tutors where you have to go on reading the information available. Some of you may feel that it is a waste of time but trust me it is not. I have done it myself by reading all the material and it is interesting. You will be given information on how to take the lessons in the best possible way and also on your posture. There are also many jokes which will ease your frustration.
Don't just go and start doing all the exercises because after sometime you will lose it and will feel like leaving the course. Go slow and read the information and you will be well on your way to get the basics correct. That is the most important thing for success.
After doing each session you will be given grades A, B or C . Initially you may get B,C or D. If you get C or D then I suggest you to do it again and try to get an A or B in every session. This will make sure that you have done a good job.
Now, after completing all the 40 sessions, you will have the correct information on how to keep your hands, fingers and type correctly. You will be able to type the home row keys without seeing and with complete effeciency.
Some of you may consider buying the product because of the effectiveness. It will be well worth it. For those of you who don't want to buy, just like me, they can try the second typing tutor which I used.
Stamina Typing Tutor
The next best..
Some of you may be thinking that if it contains lessons for everything then only this software should be used but the reason is that the basic explanation which is required to be able to type in the correct fashion is present in Yesolo. So it is recommended to use Yesolo first and then use the Stamina tutor.
The Stamina typing tutor looks like this

When you click Start button, the lesson mentioned just above it will start. In the image you can see df jk, so this lesson contains the 4 alphabet which you have to practice. When this is finished, the next lesson automatically comes up. In this way you have to do each and every exercise.
In the mode section

you can see all the lessons that are available to you. The best thing to do is complete the lessons one by one and if you have more errors in a lesson then do it again till the number of errors is as less as possible.

Touch Typing Made Simple
Review:
1)This is one of the easiest books to learn typing from. Im a writer and I got tired of paying other people to type up my manuscripts for me at high prices. So I took matters into my own hands and looked around for a good typing book. There were several good ones among many, but this book has everything. It shows you how to sit properly, how to use all the keys on the board and not just the alphabet. The book is divided into lessons and I find this very helpful. What surprised me the most is how fast I learned how to type. It was amazing! Before I started this book, I had to look over all the board for a letter to type a simple sentence. After only 3 or 4 days of practice at about 3 hours a day, I began to notice greater coordination of my fingers and I was typing. Not fast, it was still slow, but what an improvement for a beginner. The book also has alphabetical sentences to increase your typing speed. These sentences contain every word in the alphabet. Not only did I learn how to type, but the success in mastering the keyboard, gave me the desire to continue working and I just breezed through the course. This is a classic typing book.
When the going gets tough.....
Do something different
1) Take the typing tutorial for sometime, atleast 15 minutes daily instead of doing 1-3 hours on one day and leaving for 3 days. If you do it consistently then you can achieve it quickly.
2) If you are having some problem in some exercise, then just leave it and proceed forward.
3) There are some keys which will be difficult to type at first, for that open a notepad and type the letter continuously. This will help.
4) Play typing games so that you are not bored.
5) Keep a spare keyboard (which is useless) so that if you get angry you can hit that one, instead of damaging the good keyboard.

- Thank you for a very nice lens. For children, there is another free typing tutorial on http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing which is a lot of fun. First and second graders like it a lot, third and above don't laugh at the jokes as much.
