One Of "The Ugliest Public Art Ever" Is ??? Well, let you be the judge...: The Ugliest Publicart Ever

So many artists, so many opinions, so little choice. Public Art is generally ugly and if it isn't, we just don't notice it. Come on lets face it unless we trip over a piece of public art or use it for a seat, it just blends into the background. We generally don't care. But if, by a sheer stroke of genius someone erects a monstrosity of ugly art in our town, we frown, we sneer, we mutter, we curse (optional!) and eventually we give it a really horrible nickname. Cool, the artist gets noticed, the art work gets attention and everyone is happy! But alas, the public are usually wise and come up with unique ways of showing their disapproval. Take the Anna Livia Millennium Fountain in Ireland for example the public hated it so much they referred to it by such names as  Floozy in the Jacuzzi, Hoor in the Sewer, Bidet Mulligan or Viagra Falls. As if that wasn't enough, they would occassionally  throw soap powder into the fountain and create a sea of foam. Needless to say the council soon tired of the publics antics and dismantled the sorry thing. It now sits in storage waiting to be unleashed somewhere else in Dublin.
