Magpie Media

Turn Your Old CD's into Cash

UK CD SWAP
This site has already paid out almost quarter of a million pounds to users selling their CD's. And in the first few months whilst going through beta testing they did little or no publicity. Now they have ironed out the bugs, sorted out their suppliers and buyers and are stepping up to provide a real alternative for those wishing to earn money from getting rid of their music.
It is a pretty unique site in that they buy from you rather than allowing you to advertise until a buyer is found. They also will send you packaging with postage paid, so that you don't incur any costs in selling.
They do require that original artwork is included and if the disc or case is in poor condition they will deduct a 'refurbishment' fee from money owed to you.
They also have a huge range of CD's available for sale at amazing prices!
Updated - 23rd December '08 Magpie Media also will now buyback your DVD's as well as CD's and Video Games!

This is an interesting lens - used to use hitflip when it was called something else - cant remember the name now!! Gone downhill since they were bought - tradeyourstuff.co.uk is an interesting one - have seen rave reviews about it elsewhere and seems a great way of taking cash for games and thus not resulting in delays for games while you wait for someone to swap it...

DO NOT TRUST.I recently joined hitflip UK. I sent them a stack of DVD's and mailed them at my own cost. Then when i tried to log in I couldnt, I then sent an email to customer support saying I couldnt log in. I got an automated email back saying that the uk site had closed and that all uk customers details had been deleted. No apology or compensation, nothing. The UK site is also still up i notice, with no mention. DO NOT TRUST.

Very interesting- I know about freecycle, but this seems good for cd's and DVD's specifically.
