How it Works
Offer item:Input details of your DVDs, CDs, books, audiobooks and video games for free. Organise your them in your Library. You can decide to offer your items for swap or just show them in your library.
Swap your items:
As soon as another member requests your book/cd/dvd/game you'll receive a "send request" in your 'To-Do-List'. When you have sent the requested item we will reward you with the appropriate amount of flip points.
Requesting an item:
Check our database for media items you would like to have and add these to your request list. If you have enough flips (points) and credit they'll automatically be matched and sent to you.

Request list:Search the catalogue for media you want and add them to your request list - the more the better. New items can be found in our categories, your recommendations or in the my.hitflip-libraries of other users.
flips (points):
In order to swap you need Flips! For every sent item you receive flips, which you can swap against other media items. Earn more flips by uploading items, or buying flips or Invite your friends to Hitflip.
Credits:
For every item we deduct 79p (£1.49 for some premium items) from your credits. Without credit on your account we can't send or match items to you.

Uploading items:Add media items by simply typing in the ISBN or EAN (number under the barcode) into your library All information concerning your item and the flipprice will automatically be added by our system.
Manage items:
In your library you can choose if you would like to just list items in your library or actively offer them for swap. Items you offer for swap are added to our product catalogue and to your my.hitflip-library .
Someone has requested your item:
Once your item is matched to another user you will receive a "send request" in your ToDo-List and per e-mail. You can then print out the address and send the item to the new owner.
Sending the item:
As soon as you have marked an item as "sent" on your To-Do list we credit your account with the appropriate amount of flips. Please be careful in packing the item and please check that the correct amount of postage is chosen.

Transaction fees
For every item you receive, you have to pay a transaction fee. At the moment we assess this fee as follows:
* items worth up to 7 flips: 0.79 GBP
* items worth 8 flips and more: 1.49 GBP
* HD-DVD/Blu-Ray: 1.49 GBP
Buying flips
You receive flips for sending out your items. In case you need more flips or you don't want to swap your own items, you can also purchase flips. The prices are as follows:
* 2 flips: 4.60 GBP
* 4 flips: 9.20 GBP
* 5 flips: 13.06 GBP (you save 0.74 GBP)
* 10 flips: 20.76 GBP (you save 2.24 GBP)
* 20 flips: 38.45 GBP (you save 7.55 GBP)
Withdrawal of credit from your Hitflip account / Cancellation of membership
Should you wish to cancel your membership within the cancellation period of 14 days, we pay out the current balance without any deduction or fees. If you want to cancel your membership after this period of 14 days and also want to withdraw your money, we have to charge you an operating cost of GBP 2.99. In general, extras like free bonus welcome packages or your starting balance cannot be withdrawn.

i think you have got it wrong, i have tested both for my reserach thesis. swapithsop uses swapits points so that you dont have to swap directly, they also have a lot more items available so you have a much better chance of doing a trade. swapits it is much safer as you dont give out yuor address Posted October 17, 2007 |

Thanks for the info about swapitshop, the problem with this sort of site are they expect you to find someone to swap with, who wants something you have to be able to complete the swap. Hitflip allowing you to swap into a pool allows the user significantly more choice for only a very small admin fee Posted October 16, 2007 |
