An Unapologetic Conservative
The Constitution was designed to take the government off the backs of the people. ~ Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas
Stop Generational Theft
Don't saddle the next generations with debt
The founding fathers said that our national debt should be paid off every generation. They said it is immoral to saddle the next generation with debt. Today we are saddling not only the next generation but the next and the next. This is taxation without representation because we are putting our posterity in debt when they are not old enough to vote on it.

No Perpetual Debt
Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson said one of the greatest dangers to a republic is debt. There are two kinds of slavery, conquest and debt. Debt restricts freedom and oppresses the spirit just as slavery by conquest does. Benjamin Franklin said that debt gives power to another over your liberty. These are true for an individual as well as a country. Why have we not listened?
Thomas Jefferson warned us:

The Constitution
The Other Document They Didn't Read
Let's talk about Obama's health care bill. In the words of Congressional Representative John Conyers: "What good is reading the bill if it's a thousand pages and you don't have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?" It was never meant to be so complicated.
The founders wanted the people to have confidence in the law. James Madison wrote in the Federalist Papers: "It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood." How can we possibly have confidence in the law when we can't read it and understand it?

Congress has forgotten that they work for us
We need to remind them
When did Congress become Royalty?
They don't listen to us
They vote themselves raises and have all manner of benefits that we don't have. They don't want to have the same health care that they want to subject us to. They have shown themselves to be scornful of and unresponsive to their constituents. They have forgotten that they work for We The People. Time to vote the royal brats out!

Socialism and Democracy
Democracy, another word for Socialism
Somewhere along the line we stopped teaching the principles of our Constitutional Republic in the schools. This provided a fertile field for other ideas to move in. In 1905 the Intercollegiate Socialist Society organized chapters on 60 college campuses. Harry W. Laidler, one leader of the socialist movement said the purpose of the ISS was, "to throw light on the world-wide movement of the industrial democracy known as socialism." Socialism aims for government ownership of businesses and factories and all the means of production. This is the very opposite of a free market Constitutional Republic.
Eventually socialism started to have a bad connotation in the US because of the violence and upset in the USSR. For this reason the ISS changed their name to the League for Industrial Democracy.
Republic NOT Democracy
We were given a Republic not a Democracy
"The United States of America shall be a Republic". A democracy requires the full participation of the people. That means every time there is something to vote on every citizen has to vote. They must travel to the seat of government, sit through hours of hearings and cast their vote. Most citizens won't do that. They don't have the time for one thing. A true democracy becomes unwieldy as the population grows. A democracy has never worked.

President Woodrow Wilson
Promoted the idea of America as a democracy
President Woodrow Wilson promoted the United States as a democracy when he referred to World War I as a war to "make the world safe for democracy." He installed members from the old Intercollegiate Socialist Society in his administration and they worked to make "democracy" an accepted word to describe the United States. Many of these people rose to positions of influence in many different sectors of society. As time went by, the word "democracy" lost its association with socialism and is now often used mistakenly to describe the US. This was a successful attack on our Constitutional form of government. President Wilson is responsible for this and other damage to our country. The founders would be appalled.
A Republic, if you can keep it
Benjamin Franklin
The founding fathers studied the Greek democracy but were not impressed with it. There was no protection of rights. They gave us instead, a republic which operates on the Rule of Law. Unlike democracy, a republic doesn't have to end in tyranny and violence as long as the people remain virtuous. That is why they wanted religion and morality taught in the public schools. They did everything they could to ensure that the root of power always stayed with the people.

James Madison on democracy
Republic not Democracy
"Democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths..."

Freedom
Cicero
The founding fathers studied Cicero and borrowed many of his ideas for our Constitutional Republic. Freedom is a possession of inestimable value. Do not let our government officials take away any more of our freedom!

The Right of Rebellion
Are we there yet?
When all other rights are taken away the right of rebellion is made perfect. For years they have been taking away our rights little by little. Have we reached the breaking point of rebellion yet? As Thomas Jefferson said, "Every generation needs a new revolution." We cannot remain ignorant and apathetic and remain free.
