Learning to Play Golf or Improving Your Golf Game?

Golf is a game that very few can master.  Even the greats of the game sometimes don't look their best.  The best players have to practice up to 8 hrs a day just to keep from missing the cut.

Learn to play golf and enjoy it.

I not only Learned to Play Golf the hard way but the first time I played I didn't even know I was going to play. At the time I was manager of a distribution center and we were have some difficult times. So one of my salespeople suggested we go to lunch. Little did I know that lunch was going to be at a local golf course and that it did not include any food. Actually three of my salespeople were involved and they came prepared with a golf shirt and extra clubs. The premise was that I was stressing to much and thus they were stressing to much so I needed to play GOLF!!

So, Learning to Play Golf for me meant hitting that little white ball about 150 times that day. But to my surprise I enjoyed it. Yes I said surprise because up to that time I thought anyone who chased a little white ball around for 4 hours was NUTS!!!

Well that was 20 some years ago and I am still enjoying it. Not only does it relive stress but I found it was a great way to make business contacts. However after playing all this time I still hit the ball around 115 time per game, but hey, I like to get my monies worth.

Do I have any regrets?

YES!

I regret not finding a way to Learn to Play Golf right from the beginning. If I had just learned the basics I could have improved my game and enjoyed it even more and not lost so much money buying lunch as the looser.

But it is never to late. Now that I have some free time I have started to concentrate more on my game and learning how to play it. I did this by going back to the basics. I found a few programs that helped me a great deal.

First I looked for a program for beginners and found one by Frank J. Peter to be a great help. It not only taught me the basics but also gave me some incite into the game itself. See Links below.

After that I checked out The Four Magic Moves to Winning Golf by Andy Brown from St. Andrews, Scotland. See Links Below.

I am now under 100 and my next goal is to break 90. What is amazing is that both of these great teaching programs cost less than a round of golf.

So weather you are just trying to Learn to Play Golf or are trying to improve your game you will enjoy and benefit from these great programs.

Great Links I would like to share with you.

I don't link to many sites but the few I do I would like to share with you here.

About UncleBob

I started selling items on ebay when my father died.  As it turned out I inherited all of his "collectibles" because my siblings  didn't want them (smart on their part).  Anyway I heard about Ebay from them and the rest is history.  I liked it so much that I began buying things to sell and ended up concentrating on Sports Memorabilia in particular Sports Cards. I wish I had mine from  the 50s and 60s but they are no where to be found.  As we were going through my fathers things my neices would always put my items in a stack and say this is Uncle Bob's Stuff and the name stuck.  Enjoy looking at my lenses and remember your own youth.
