Uncle Scrooge Comics
First published by Dell in 1952, the first Uncle Scrooge comic was written by Carl Barks. The story was Only a Poor Old Man. A (10) Gem Mint copy of this book (as rated by the CGC) is worth at least $10,000.The most popular writers of the Uncle Scrooge stories are Carl Barks, the original, and Don Rosa.
Issue #36 of the Dell series featured the first appearance of Magica de Spell.
Issue #40 was the first Gold Key publication in 1962. Whitman also published issues during this period.
In 1986, Gladstone picked up the publication with issue #210.The series switched to Disney as the publisher in 1990, then back again to Gladstone.
In 2003, Gemstone picked up the series, and it continues to publish the series today.
