Moss and Stone Garden Path
15/12/09

If you want to keep your garden path more natural and want a low cost alternative, then consider moss. I recommend you place a landscape material down first to deter weeds and then top off your garden path with soil and then plant your moss!
Just remember to pick a moss that is right for your sun conditions.
Interlocking Brick Garden Path

This is a more formal garden path that was made with interlocking brick and then bordered by large white rocks and wood chips.
Fieldstone Path

These beautiful Fieldstone Pavers are a great alternative to more sophisticated walkways and you can do it yourself provided you've got a few friends with muscles.
Curving Garden Path by Stone Retaining
08/10/09
Mulch, gravel, stone, and concrete are the most common garden path materials. To avoid weeds popping through use a foundation preferably stone and/or landscape material.
Here's a beautiful curving garden path by a stone retaining wall with a combination of gravel and flagstone with a garden on the other side. The curving path with a pine tree obscuring the view as the path meanders around, creates intrigue and invites the viewer to continue down the path.

Another path done by the same company is a curving brick path that creates interest with its curves and a garden water fountain focal point.

Beautiful combination brick and stone path walkway at the front of a house.

Stepping Stone Path
27/04/09
All sorts of materials can be used for garden paths that require steps. For a more natural step choose large stones, as seen in this stepping stone garden path. In many cases these are found stones, that either are dug up in your garden or can be found on shorelines of river stone.
Use landscape material under the stones and on the sides to hold back the weeds and vegetation.

The garden rooms are each unique and you are led to the formal garden rooms through a gentle transition from informal to formal.
This exceptional path's unique design includes pebbles and stones placed in a diamond shape and is bordered by low flowers and shrubs in a striking contrast of colors.

- Another treat for the senses! I'm still working on our flagstone path in the front yard. It used to be planted with creeping thyme, but now the stones are surrounded by pebbles. I would love to have moss, but can't get it to grow.
