Road travel can be the best way to see many of the destinations within the United States. Places like New England, California, Florida and the east coast have many attractions within a relatively small area, so it just doesn't make sense to fly. Other regions like the four corners and the southwest don't have air travel to the remote deserts, so you're only option is to drive. If you could label just one place in the USA as heavenly, it might be Yosemite National Park. The park's valley view is a moving experience that can only be described by actually being there, but I'll try. As you leave the tunnel that leads through the mountains just before the valley, you'll immediately be dumped out into the "valley view" area of Yosemite. Gazing across the valley floor, you'll see rows of alpine spruce trees, framed with granite peaks. Gushing waterfalls cascade down in between the peaks and rumble all across the park, as the mountains recede into the distance as far as you can see.
