The United Nations was to be the best hope for mankind. It was suppose to keep peace, instill justice and help the poor and hungary. It was a dream and a vision that fail to materialize and live up to the promise. Who is to blame? and why has it failed so miserbly? No doubt some of the UN agencies have done good. However, that is not good enough. There are many charities and non-profit organizations doing similar type of work and producing results. The UN has a unique role and yet it has failed in it's primary duties. Let's try and fix it for the sake of the world population.

How do we fix it?

Here are some constructive ideas on fixing the UN.
  1. Separate the General Assembly from the various humanitarian agencies. Keep the agencies funded at current levels.
  2. Create a new organization structure fashioned after our US Constitution - each country are like our States.
  3. The Secretary General will be elected (as our President) and their will be a legislature based on population - an International Congress body. The extra stipulation is that only democratic governments get one vote per citizen, dictatorship will only get one vote per country. This is fair and will encourage all countries to strife for a democartic form of government.
  4. A multinational force well funded and used for peacekeeping.
  5. A Court like body to settle disputes among member states.
  6. An enforcement policy such that any member state that does not abide by the ruling of the body will suffer economic sanctions by the whole body and may be ejected from the body.
