How on EARTH do I make MY lens look like THIS lens?!

Do you see how this lens has a different layout to the normal lenses?

It has all the content on the left, and ONE sidebar on the right.

It looks good doesn't it?

The good news is, making your lens do this is SO easy you'll wonder how you could have missed it for so long.

Here is how to do it.

Step 1. Open Your Lens

You need to be in Edit mode. So go to your lens right now (in a different window) as if you were going to be changing some stuff on it.

Step 2. Look for 'UnMax' in the right side column

If you follow the column all the way down you'll see right at the bottom of it (just above 'Export this Lens') a little box that is ticked. Next to the tick box it says 'Maxed!'

Step 3. Untick the box

Untick the box (it will change to 'Why Max?'), and republish your lens.

And that's it!

WHY do you prefer either maxed or unmaxed lenses?

Do you like the maxed layout, or the unmaxed layout?

Tell the world WHY.....!

I prefer the unmaxed template also, better to read and less ads..

I prefer unmaxed as the content is easier to read and seems less jamed up - I also believe the Orange tobe more inviting than the Blue.

I liked the unmaxed lenses as they are easier to read and the format does not seem all jammed up - lastly I believe the Orange to be more inviting then the Blue. - Thanks for this lens.

Ohhh, that's what the maxed box does!? Thanks for the tip. The new layout is too dark, as others have commented.

Just recently noticed the Max option. And with the new layout I am unmaxed some of my lens cause I thought it is too dark.

Hey thanks for that. I just assumed this was an enforced change in layout. Didn't know you had the choice to revert back to the old layout.

I like the unmaxed layout the best as it is cleaner and you can read the lensmasters content better. The new maxed - is too cluttered and lensmaster content is all squished and bent out of shape. I hate the current maxed!

I like the Unmaxed version better definitely. It looks like the new layouts are all going to have the Unmaxed look to them as well. Keep up the good work. Squidoo needs more informative lenses like this one for newbies like me.
