Unseen Killers. Clean water that is Dirty.

Clean water that is dirty.

The water we drink. Is it as really clean as we think? Runoff from natural and man made objects is leaching and ending up in our precious fresh water. Two thirds of the earth is water. Very little of it is fresh or potable. For centuries mankind has used our earth's vast oceans as a dumping ground for whatever was no longer needed. This included nasty toxic chemicals and other really bad things.

Clean water - Dirty water. Where the two shall meet!

THE TWO SHALL MEET AND MAKE ONE!

This image should prove the point about how we dirty our waters.

We as Americans must stop- the madness that is effecting our world waterways. It will take each one of us working to accomplish this goal. We must stop and think about each piece of garbage we throw out our car windows, in our waters and dumped onto our soil. Also, stop using toxic chemical household cleaners and dumping them down our drains, the sewer and onto the ground. All of these find their way to our water supplies.

Just when we thought the water was safe!

Drinking Water Standards

type=textWhen you fill a glass with water from your tap, you expect to drink water that is safe and pure. However, gases, minerals, bacteria, metals or chemicals suspended or dissolved in your water can affect your health and influence the quality of your water.

Drinking water supplied by municipal water systems is monitored for many contaminants. As authorized by the 1974 Safe Drinking Water Act and its amendments, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established limits on the concentration of certain drinking water contaminants allowed in public water supplies. These limits, or standards, are set to protect your health and ensure that your water is of good quality. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) has accepted the National Standards.

Plastic, plastic, plastic, rope, string, metal, lids, caps, bottles, fishing line, just trash in general. How would you like to swim in this mess and filter the water through your gills(if you had gills). This is the mess our sea life is exposed to everyday. Even our birds get caught up in this mess, we must stop and think before we dump.
