About Untalkative

Who could not like Untalkative Bunny?  Since this adorable, yellow rabbit never speaks, his name is appropriate.  You may see him bouncing on a camel, driving a sports car, riding a scooter or experiencing a short adventure with one of his many animal friends.  Of all the episodes, my favourite is Bunny and Beaver.  When Bunny's TV breaks down, he goes to Beaver's apartment to watch TV.  Bunny quickly learns that his interests and Beaver's interests do not meet.

Kids will love watching UB's adventures in Ottawa, the capital city of Canada.  Who will he meet?  What problems will he encounter?  How will he address those situations?  If you want to see one short animation now, check out the clip from YouTube.

Untalkative on Wikipedia

Untalkative Bunny is a Canadian/British co-produced animated series about a yellow rabbit and its life in the big city (closely based on Ottawa, Canada.) The series consists of small episodes (about 4-5 minutes long each), and are aired by Teletoon, as well as Disney in many parts of the world including the UK & France (excluding the US). The episodes usually deal with Bunny and the problems of a modern life in the big city, and often present surreal elements. The show is full of "modern life" elements, such as diets, vegetarianism, racism, and environmentalism.

The name of the show comes from the fact that Bunny, the main character, never says any word at all, expressing itself completely by facial expressions and other forms of body language. The true gender of Bunny is not completely defined, since it seems to portray both gender roles in different episodes; though the unofficial website refers to it as a "he".(many people are unaware that grammatically "he" is appropriate to refer to either a masculine or neuter gender)

Other recurring characters include:

*Squirrel: An orange Squirrel, who frequently pays visits to Bunny, and lives in the wild (as far as a city allows, such as city parks), but still with all the affordable modern comforts. He is sometimes accompanied with his son and daughter.

*Emu: A grumpy, frustrated cantankerous blue emu who usually puts Bunny in bad situations.

*Friendly Friend: An unknown creature who usually annoys Bunny.

*Beaver: A beaver with the latest trends. His favorite sport is hockey.

65 five minute episodes were made for the first season. A subsequent 2nd and 3rd season was made with Dawn Wilton supervising the co-writers from the first season. Some of the episodes in the third season were written solely by the UK department. The cartoon soundtrack consists almost entirely of bossa nova and jazz tunes arranged by French jazz composer Marie-Louise Alcale.

What is a rabbit?

Rabbits are small mammals in the family Leporidae of the order Lagomorpha, found in several parts of the world. There are seven different genera in the family classified as rabbits, including the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), Cottontail rabbit (genus Sylvilagus; 13 species), and the Amami rabbit (Pentalagus furnessi, endangered species on Amami ?shima, Japan). There are many other species of rabbit, and these, along with pikas and hares, make up the order Lagomorpha.
