Unwanted, coerced, deceptive or forced abortions & other injustices/risks to both women and the unborn

New studies indicate that most abortions are unwanted or coerced and insufficiently or negligently informed. Coercion can escalate to violence. Homicide is the #1 killer of pregnant women. Aftereffects are significant, too, yet often missed or dismissed by experts, health officials and leaders in the helping professions.

Why it's The UnChoice

Why the word "choice" doesn't apply

The presumption of free, fair or fully informed "choice" overlooks new evidence that most abortions are unwanted or coerced, most are insufficiently informed, and many are forced, sometimes violently. Homicide is the #1 killer of pregnant women. Furthermore, educating the public about the risks of abortion, from trauma to high maternal death rates would save lives and deter many of those who coerced, push, pressure or even force abortion. Awareness of this new evidence can save those at risk, help those already hurt and end a thousand injustices.

"Every time abortion is debated, it sounds 10 times as loud ... it hurts 10 times as much."

New evidence exposes injustices and danger to both the unborn and women, as well as the reality that many men and families have also been personally affected. Some have lost daughters, sisters, friends and family to pregnancy-related violence, abuse or post-abortion complications.

For those who grieve the loss of authentic choice, post-abortion harm and heartbreak, and the loss of a child ... the national political debate or casual comments about "choice" can send an unintended message.

In America, teens and women of all ages are being silenced, shuttled to clinics in lieu of real answers and support, many beaten, blackmailed or betrayed by authority figures or even trusted guides and gatekeepers in the helping professions. Many are dismissed after the fact if they seek help.

The UnChoice campaign shares new evidence that abortion was never about free, fair or fully informed "choice" in the conventional understanding of the word ... or even that abortion is "safe." It exposes the harm to women, teens and vulnerable families at risk of coercion, deception, unwanted abortions and the aftereffects.

More about unwanted abortions

Most abortions involve some form of direct or indirect pressure, deception or negligence. Coercion often comes from all sides and can include disinformation or failure to disclose information relative to an unwanted or deceptively sold abortion.

Other forms of coercion include personal pressure from authorities, profit-driven providers with a conflict of interest, or guides and gatekeepers who add pressure while withholding important facts about fetal development or available alternatives. Most fail to screen for evidence of unwanted, coerced or even forced abortions and risk of significant aftereffects.

Such pressure and negligent or deceptive directives often work in concert and at a time when teens, women or families are under duress, or simply in search of honest answers and authentic support.

65% suffer symptoms of trauma and rates of clinical depression are high. Death from all causes is nearly 4 times higher. suicide rates are 6 times higher among women who abort.

As you can see, this is an urgent concern. Many teens and women from all walks of life are at risk of unwanted or coerced abortions and post-abortion harm.

Women want, need and deserve authentic support, honest information and positive alternatives. Those already hurt need to know they're not alone. Help spread the word and turn the tide by reading and sharing this lens and learning more at TheUnChoice.com.
