Urban Legends-Stories True or False?
I have held off writing this SquidBoo lens until the theme showed back up. So without delaying this any longer, I am going to share some of the urban legends I have heard, and try to fill this lens with lots of links and other stories. So let's get comfortable at our campfire and snuggle up in our blankets and whatever you do, make sure you have a flashlight close at hand!!

I heard this urban legend in Delaware, Pennsylvania and Ohio
There was a couple driving down an old country road that was completely lined with trees. All of a sudden the car stopped running; it had run out of gas! The couple sat in the car for a long time trying to figure out what to do. Finally the guy told his girlfriend to stay in the car and keep the doors locked and the windows up, that he needed to go for help.It was really late and the girl tried very hard to keep her eyes opened but she was so exhausted her eyes kept closing. Every time she came close to falling into a deep sleep she would be awakened by a scraping noise that came from on top of the roof. She was too scared to get out and look and wished her boyfriend would hurry and return and convinced herself it was just the tree limbs brushing against the car.
The next morning she was awakened by a tapping on the window, it was a police man. She finally felt safe enough and rolled down the window. The police kept asking the girl if she was okay and if she was hurt. She looked at him very confused and nodded her head she was okay but was worried about her boyfriend. The police told her to step out of the car, BUT do not turn back around.
She became very frightened and asked where her boyfriend was. The only thing the police said to her was do not turn around towards the car. With curiosity getting the best of her, she had to see what the police was talking about so she turned around and screamed!!
Her boyfriend had been murdered and hung upside down from the tree they were parked under. Legend says that it was his hand that was brushing against the roof of the car every time the wind blew and that the young man was murdered by someone who had escaped from a nearby mental institution.

I have heard this in Delaware and Indiana
Cry Baby BridgeLegend has it that a woman was driving across the bridge one night and the roads were slick from the winter storms. She was real upset about something and that did not help her driving any. The woman had her little baby in the car with her.
The lady lost control of the car and crashed against one of the side rails and her car ended up crashing and fell into the water. Now legend say that every winter night at a certain time late at night when you are driving over this bridge, you can hear the crash of the car when it hits the water then a woman screaming and baby crying!
There is a bridge that we use to cross all of time when we lived in Delaware to get to Middletown, one night my stepfather just told this story. I remember it so well because I was so young and every time we went to Middletown, I would always listen for the sounds he said but never heard any.
There is a bridge in Indiana that crosses over into Louisville, Kentucky, and some friends of mine told me the same story except it was at 1:00 AM sharp when you could hear the woman screaming and the baby crying.

Now this is an Urban Legend I have heard in many places I lived.
The Girl
This guy was driving home late one night from a concert on a back country road. He noticed there was girl standing on the side of the road so he stopped and offered her a ride. She accepted his offer and got into the car. No words were spoken between the two of them, when he asked her where she lived she just pointed straight ahead. The guy seen a house in the near distance and turned to ask the girl if that was the house she lived in, but she had disappeared! He pulled up to the house, got out and knocked on the door. Since was so late he immediately apologized for disturbing their sleep but wanted to make sure the girl he picked up made it into the house safely.
The man and woman who answered the door looked at the guy with tears in their eyes and asked how he could be so cruel to ask such a thing. The older explained that it was a year ago that very evening that his daughter was killed returning home from a concert.

- Awesome lens! I was intrigued by the little known aspects of some areas that no one knows about, unless someone like you or me and many oters write about it. In my Boy Scout troop, they had a story about a maniac that hung out around that camp in Brighton, Michigan called The Breather, he alledgedly breathed through a slit in his neck and many of the senior scouts would stand next to our tents and make sick sounds in an attempt to scare us. They would even show us concocted "cages" and supposed living areas where the Breather roamed. Never forgot that one for sure!
