Something from Nothing

Trying to regain our creativity can be somewhat difficult as we get older. Our childhood days of writing, singing, dancing and making up wild fantastic stories have been pushed to the wayside. Our time is now filled with housework, family obligations, bills and the like. Creativity is basically making something out of nothing, and unless creativity is actively nourished it can't present itself. If we could just reach back into our childhood and recall some of the fearless skills we all once had, we could begin to develop our creativity and weave it into our everyday lives.
Life is a Blank Canvas
Gazing at a blank canvas can be very intimidating. It's either a quick way to squash the creative flow or the first step to creating a true masterpiece. When we were children, we weren't aware of the right or wrong of creating, we just knew that it felt good.
Returning to a Fearless State
The first step is to have a little fun. Drop your shoulders and grab a game, sled or jump rope. Try to enjoy the activities you did as a child. The idea is to clear your mind from the concerns of your day to day life and ignite the ability to think freely.

Nurturing the Creative Soul

It's possible to rid a person of creativity.

The outside world can intimidate, reject and even humiliate creative souls. The reason for this reaction must be so that creative beings should just act like everyone else."
I have always hoped that creativity would be more widely accepted, understood and encouraged in our homes, schools, and jobs so that those that are creative can feel free to come forth and embrace who they are truly meant to be. Occasionally, people with extreme cases of creativity are ostracized in their environments and are encouraged to change. It's apparent that people wonder, why can't they just be normal like the rest of us?
When ideas come flying out of creative souls, they have no fear in sharing their thoughts, until the last word leaves their mouth and the recipient may appear to feel threatened that they didn't think of it themselves, or they may slam the door on the interaction by laughing or shunning the idea as silly or stupid, only to use the idea later and taking claim to it as their own.
