Use Snippets in Dreamweaver CS3

Dreamweaver CS3 allows you to store blocks of code to be reused again and again known as a Snippet. A Snippet can be HTML, JavaScript, ASP and more.

There are plenty of predefined snippets of code available within Dreamweaver but you are more likely to want to create your own.

Create a Snippet

Creating a Code Snippet1. Select the code you want to store

2. Click on the Create a Snippet button

3. Enter a name and description for the Snippet

4. Choose either Code or Design (this is how the Snippet will be previewed)

5. Click Ok

2. Find the Snippet you want to use

3. Click and drag the Snippet onto your page. Your page can be in Code or Design view
