Should I buy a used Wii? If so then where can I buy a used Wii?

Buying a used Wii can be easy and cheap as long as you follow some simple tips

Should you buy a used Wii? Well, do you like to save money? Do you like not having to go to the local mega-mess-mart and walk around for an hour. Maybe you just don't want to pay that much for something you may not like, you are the kind of person that wants to try out the Wii before you get really convinced. Buying a used Wii is not hard and usually is a pleasant experience. Just like anything else you buy used you need to set some guidelines for the purchase before you even start searching for a used Wii.

1. Set a limit on how much you are willing to spend. If you get involved in an auction you are liable to get carried away trying to post the high bid and spend over your budget. Besides, if you spend too much then maybe you would have been better off buying a new Wii. Remain calm, the Wii loves you too but if someone else is willing to outbid you by $50 higher than your budget, move on to the next auction.

2. If you go to a store like EB games or gamestop, ask them about a warranty or an optional warranty. It never hurts to ask. You might be able to get a small warranty for just a little extra. This could be a great thing one-day if little brother decides to smash your Wii.

3. When buying from an auction or from eBay, read the seller's feedback. This is important! I have almost been ready to bid so many times on items at eBay only to discover that the seller isn't selling what he is advertising or has never sent the first one to any buyers. This is thanks to someone who left the seller a negative feedback explaining the situation. Find someone with a good reputation.

4. Don't pay an arm and a leg for shipping. It is just shipping from their house to yours, not to the moon. I have seen people on eBay charging $50 shipping from Virginia to Ohio and the sad thing is, people are paying it. An honest, decent seller will usually have an honest shipping price, saving you that much more money.

5. Read the description on the auction carefully. Make sure the seller isn't trying to hide some kind of malfunction on the unit. Usually this should not be a problem, but you always have some joker that wants to sell you something that does not work. These are the same people who are auctioning off empty Wii boxes and then trying to hide the fact that they are empty Wii boxes. That is why it is important to read the full description.

6. Last, see if the seller has a return policy. This could come in very handy if something goes wrong in the first couple days of play. You kind of have to weigh the importance of this one. You may find a very good auction with everything you want for the price you want. This is an auction you have been wanting for some time. If the seller does not allow returns then maybe it does not matter to you at this point.

You can take or leave any of the above tips at any time, but I wouldn't go off like a crazed lunatic, lest you could pay too much for a defective Wii. Set ground rules and you should walk away from buying a used Wii smiling! Below are some used Wii systems for sale or auction. Browse through them with your newfound knowledge and happy hunting!

Used Wii for sale or auction

Some stories from the land of the tight fisted used Wii buyer

Ok, I saw another Wii empty box auction today on eBay. I see one everyday. Some people are honest and very up-front about it, proclaiming in huge red letters that this auction is for a box only, still, other weasels hide the fact that they are trying to rip you off the best they can. I have no problem with someone selling his or her empty Wii box on eBay. You could really play a mean, nasty prank on someone with a used Wii box. Some poor soul is thinking they are going to get a new Wii only to find an empty box, co workers get his empty-box reaction on a digital camera and put it on you tube. See this could work out.

I have seen people in the middle of the night in my time zone walk away from used Wii auctions with huge savings. They must have been very happy with themselves, waiting to attack an auction in the middle of the night, finding a seller with low or even free shipping. Reading the seller's feedback to make sure they are on the up and up. It is done hundreds of times a day on eBay, and you can do it too. Below are some more listings for Wii systems, enjoy.
