The FDA is useless, even dangerous...
The FDA, in my opinion, is a perfect-way-to-waste-your-tax-money administration.
Do you believe that the FDA is really doing their job? Would place your health and more importantly, your children's health in an association with such bad track records?
I'm sure you've heard the many drug withdrawals and the people who died from them.
The FDA is so wrong on so many of the health issues today... it will take a whole book to list them all.
For example, they made a law that says only a drug can cure a disease. They then go on and define all kinds diseases (which is why you always see all kinds of new disease name). In effect, if you do develop a disease because you lack vitamin C, someone come up to you and suggests vitamin C is a cure to your disease, the guy is actually breaking the law... punishable with jail time.
That's just dumb. Common sense would tell you that if you develop a disease due to a lack of vitamin C, then supplementing vitamin C would *at least* be every useful to your condition, and in most cases, cure you.
It's not just negligence... it's a cover-up! But instead of explaining everything myself, I'll let other sources (who has more authority and credibility) to explain the situation...

If you have breast cancer, and I told you to bake linseed oil in with muffins and eat them everyday until it goes away (Canadian scientists proved that it works better and safer then chemotherapy), the FDA could break my door down and, like a SWAT team complete with guns and armor, take me down and arrest me for a federal crime, like I was a terrorist or a big time drug dealer. No Joke. Heheh, just for helping you cure something naturally.

When something is a little bit wrong it can be tweaked and fixed. But the FDA is so far gone, and the thinking inside the FDA is so far off base...They need to be taken out of the medical treatment business.

You can't patent Vitamin C or an herb like ginger and therefore drug companies can't make any money off of them. Corrupt and potentially dangerous perhaps, but not useless. Anytime you have bureaucrats and scientists who are, let's just say less than fabulously wealthy, with the authority to make or break products that have the potential to generate billions of dollars in profits, things can get a little twisted.
Is there a better system? I don't know, but it is for certain that the FDA is not our great protector as they would like us to think they are.

It is odd that the FDA would continue to harass and prosecute those that encourage the use of natural treatments, while continuing to approve drugs that must be pulled from the market a short while later. I don't remember the exact stat, but a *very* large percentage of FDA top dogs go on to work for the pharmaceutical industry after they get done at the FDA. Could these be related???
