What is User Generated Content?

So just what is user generated content? It is more than likely you are part of user generated content (UGC), just the same as every squidoo lens master is. Quite simply any online user who contributes content that is hosted by a third party website i.e.Wikipedia, blog sites, YouTube, Flickr and Squidoo to name a few who participate in UGC other than the long established media producers.
UGC can also be referred to as social networking, social media, folksonomy, unpaid freelancers among others but they all mean the same thing. To find out more about UGC and the workings of social networking, I would recommend you pick your copy of the
User Generated content Handbook This is a huge 86 Page handbook with 14 Easy-To-Understand Steps On How To Implement The Ultimate User Generated Content Marketing Plan! Learn how to drive traffic to your site at no cost to you.

The Blog is a Good Example of User Generated Content
The blog is a great platform to not only put your point of view on daily issues but can be used to promote a business or products in a less formal way than the conventional promotion methods.
Setting up a blog can be as simple as watching a few videos and your up and running. For instance these free video tutorials will soon have you building blogging websites in no time. Wordpress has served the blogging community well over the years and is my personal choice of blogging platform.
Of course building your blog is only the first stage if your blog is going to be about promoting a product or a business. Getting eyes to your blog will be the next stage you will need to tackle and that means creating traffic. This can be done using various methods like article marketing, video marketing to name a few, bringing readers to your blog and perhaps adding user generated content. Visit marketing videos for a list of 600 tutorial videos to help with these issues.
This content could be in the way of compliments to your product or may even be something that they feel is wrong with your product. Great for you no matter which type of comment they leave. The compliments are fantastic but the "problem with your product" comments will give you a great opportunity to improve your product. Not only that but to be seen to improve your product tells your customers that you care!!!
This is one of the greatest benefits of user generated content although its not everyone who is prepared to accept criticism. This is unfortunate for them because todays shopping public are very experienced at using the internet and will soon pass on their buying experiences to others, be it good or be it bad.
