Although cats and dogs are an important part of many of our families, there are so many more animals out there that need our - and your - help.

For instance, did you know:

* The Canadian government still allows fisherman to club baby seals for their fur?

* Horses are still being slaughtered in the U.S and sold abroad for food?

* Animals including dogs and cats are killed in the most gruesome ways in China, where many of our shirts and jackets with fur and fur-trim (some falsely marked as "faux") come from?

* Most of the eggs and meat we eat and buy in the grocery stores come from farms where animals are confined in overcrowded cages all their lives, with no room to roam or even turn around?

* Many cats and dogs sold in pet stores come from puppy mills where animals are caged and continually bred for profit, then raised in poor conditions with virtually no human contact?

* Some hunting facilities dump animals into a caged-in area where they are shot at with no reasonable chance to escape?

We are working hard every day to change these horrible situations for our sweet, defenseless animal friends.
