The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower is the second aircraft carrier in the Nimitz class having been launched on October 11, 1975. The "Ike" serves as the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 8, and is based at Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Virginia.
Named after the 34th president of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower.

- This is an excellent lens, love it. It's amazing to see 4 carriers side by side, especially as we just said a sad farewell to the UK's last carrier last week. The Eisenhower was launched on my birthday too.
