Welcome Aboard the USS Alabama!

The US Navy battleship USS Alabama (BB-60) was launched from the Norfolk Navy Yard in Portsmouth, Virginia on February 16, 1942 and was commissioned on August 16 of that same year.  In nearly five years of commissioned service, the USS Alabama earned nine battle stars for participation in the Atlantic and Pacific Campaigns of World War II.  Today she is permanently berthed in the waters of Mobile Bay just outside the city of Mobile, Alabama where she serves proudly as a floating museum honoring the service of all veterans, past and present, of all branches of the US military.

    I Made a good mental bookmark to visit this ship if I am in Mobile Alabama.
    The Queen Mary is docked here in a surburb of Los Angeles (Long Beach) as floating hotel/museum., It is a haunted ship and even have Ghost Tours ($70 !!!) so you can meet the ghosts in the bowels of the ship.

    Anyone for a living history group? We can do Navy ww2, USO, Red Cross, Homefront, We have the best area between Pensacola and Mobile for ww2 reenacting! I'm ready, is anyone else?
